We apologize for the long silence as we’ve worked toward fulfillment. Today, we have a pretty sizable update for you all.
First, we are excited to announce that Tailbreak, which was previously announced as add-on content for Railbreak, is now releasing as a stand-alone, expanded sequel to the original game. Anyone who backed for a copy of the Tailbreak DLC will be receiving this new title!
Tailbreak features a new, fully voice acted story, Standard and Arrange modes, and much more. Big changes to gameplay are also present, including an item system and an egg chain combo system. The full game will once again be playable via local co-op for up to two players. Tailbreak launches for PS5 (with PS5 Pro enhancements), XBOX Series X|S & XBOX Play Anywhere, and on PC via Steam on August 7th!
In regards to Railbreak VR: Due to a variety of considerations including market conditions, budget, and unforeseen complications on our end, we have regrettably decided to cancel Railbreak VR. We know this will be disappointing news to many of you, as it is to us too, and we very sincerely apologize for this development. Those of you who backed our campaign for Railbreak VR will receive a digital copy of Tailbreak as an apology and as a token of our appreciation for your support.
Additionally, we will be releasing Railbreak DX, an enhanced version of the original Railbreak. Anyone who backed our campaign for a copy of either Railbreak VR or Tailbreak will receive a complimentary copy of Railbreak DX. Railbreak DX enhances the original game with nine new playable characters, dozens of bug fixes and enhancements, rebalanced gameplay, a major engine and graphical upgrade, and more. Going forward, Railbreak DX will be the definitive and most feature-rich version of the game. Railbreak DX launches for PS5 (with PS5 Pro enhancements), XBOX Series X|S & XBOX Play Anywhere, and on PC via Steam on September 4th.
Last, we are still working on logistics for the fulfillment of hardware lightgun orders. We apologize for the delay on this, which has unfortunately been unavoidable. We will share more concrete information as soon as we are able.
