Do you use AI in the art or any other part of this project?

Accepted Answer

No. All art and text is human-made. Even our advertising, videos, and promotional material (t-shirts, stickers, etc.) are all designed by our team and produced by human hands using non-AI editing software.

Question 2

When will I be charged?

Accepted Answer

After the Backerkit campaign ends on March 3rd, Backerkit will charge your selected payment method automatically. We will send a reminder email the day before to make sure you have the funds available. If you've picked a physical reward, remember that you'll still need to cover the shipping charges (check our estimator for approximate cost) and any applicable sales tax. The exact amount depends on your order, location, and local tax rates. BackerKit will calculate this for you when it's time to fulfill your orders.

You will also have the option to select the "Pay Over Time" option, which will divide your payments over 4 months for rewards and add-ons totaling more than $200.

Do you offer financing for larger purchases?

Yes!

Backerkit offers a "Pay-Over-Time" feature that allows you to divide your pledge amount over 4 months for rewards and add-ons totaling over $200. Simply toggle the "Pay Over Time" option at checkout.

I live outside the US and Canada. Can I still back the campaign?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can definitely back through the digital "Hatchling" tier, and you can even add on the digital VTT Modules and Maps as an add-on upon check out.

What currency is used for tier pricing?

The pricing for all tiers on the Backerkit campaign are in United States Dollar (USD).

Question 6

What is the Pledge Manager?

Accepted Answer

The Pledge Manager is a way to confirm all of your information is correct before your order is finalized.. About 3-4 weeks after the campaign concludes, you'll receive an email with a survey. In that survey, you can share your address, upgrade your pledge tier, and add any extra items you'd like.

Is this book suitable for children or general non-gamer dragon lovers?

Yes! While the purpose of the book is to be utilized as a D&D 5e supplement, the only thing that is exclusive to D&D are the stat blocks. The flavor text, lore, and even the combat tips can be enjoyed by anyone wanting to read about new kinds of unique dragons and be engrossed in a world where dragons truly rule.

Other than stat blocks, what do I get with these dragons?

The main book, Dragons! Dragons! Dragons! features at minimum two pages of content for each dragon: a human-made picture of the creature, flavor text, lore and history of the breed, stat blocks, and tips on running the encounter for every round of combat to keep each battle interesting.

What is the size of the printed books?

The books are hardcover in standard RPG supplement size (magazine size) 8 1/2 x 11" (approximately A4 ISO size).

If I pledge a lower amount, can I change the pledge later?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can. After the campaign ends, you will be charged for the tier you selected. A few weeks later you will be invited to the "Pledge Manager", where you will submit your shipping address, pay for shipping, and it will allow you to include any "add-ons" with your pledge. You can also change your pledge level there.

How many dragons are in the book, and what are they like?

This book introduces 100 new DRAGON BREEDS. This is like your traditional Gold, Silver, Blue, Black, Red, etc., but our dragons go beyond the chromatic spectrum and change the game for good. Our dragons can do things like turn to dust and get blown away from danger, control magnetism to toss enemies around or just crush them in their armor, turn into molten metal and navigate seas of lava, rock the ground with a powerful stomp, explode into a burst of spikes in all directions, control plants and vines, and turn into a wrecking ball that can decimate an entire party in one fell swoop!

What are the creature cards?

The creature cards are a convenient tool for all Game Masters, providing a large, tarot-sized card with an image of the dragon on one side and the stat block on the other for easy reference during combat. No more flipping back and forth through numerous books during an encounter, helping to streamline combat and make it fast and nail-biting.

I backed as a VIP during the pre-launch campaign. How do I get my free book?

As a VIP backer, you will receive an email with a link to a VIP-only backer tier that includes the free in-print book, "Dragons! ...And The Things You Can Make From Them". You will receive your FREE in-print book and PDF when the other rewards ship.

How do I use BackerKit?

Accepted Answer

Using BackerKit is easy! You'll receive surveys, instructions, and reminders as we make progress on Dragons! Dragons! Dragons!. If you ever need to update your survey responses, add more items, change your shipping address, or make any adjustments, simply visit BackerKit before we lock in the delivery details. For any assistance with BackerKit, please reach out to their FAQ or Customer Service directly.

Also, be sure to add our email addresses to your known addresses in your email server to prevent any of our important emails from going into your spam folder.

Question 15

Are these only going to be dragons, or are other creatures featured within?

Accepted Answer

We are only including dragons and dragon-related creatures, like wyverns, drakes, hydras, and even some new ones like the dragoons. Some examples include the Quake Dragoon, Howling Wyvern, and the terrifying Gorgon Hydra - a multi-headed dragon that can turn victims to stone!

We will also have a Stretch Goal that adds non-dragon minions, like cultists and other creatures that support the dragons your players will face!

How can I get some of those cool add-ons?

When you choose a tier at checkout, you can also add extra items. For each product you want to include, click the "Add" button and the item will be added to your total pledge. If you didn't select them initially, no worries! You'll have another chance to increase your pledge and get more add-ons when we send out BackerKit surveys.

What are Stretch Goals and are they free?

Stretch goals are additional products and features that we aim to unlock as our campaign reaches certain funding milestones. They will be automatically included in your pledge of the relevant tier and do not increase the cost of their respective included tier. They are our way of saying "THANK YOU" to our backers for their support and enhancing the overall experience of Dragons! Dragons! Dragons!.

How do I pay for shipping?

Accepted Answer

Shipping costs will be charged separately after they are calculated on BackerKit survey, once we've sent out surveys and confirmed the dimensions and weights of the items we will be sending you.. The actual shipping costs will be applied through BackerKit after the campaign ends.

Please keep in mind that the estimated shipping costs on the campaign page are based on current size and weight estimates of the products included in each tier. These estimates may change, but we strive to provide as accurate shipping prices as possible.

It's worth noting that due to the ongoing global shipping situation (with tariffs and other governmental trade negotiations) that final shipping price may exceed our initial estimates. We will update shipping price in your BackerKit survey as soon as we have the products' precise weights and dimensions.

Will you be adding VTT support for this supplement?

Yes! We plan on adding Foundry VTT and general VTT assets as an option on certain reward tiers and as add-ons.

The best way is to ask the artists! We provide links to their socials on our Discord server, and many of them are on our Discord, always happy to speak with you about their process. We also post concepts, roughs, sketches, process videos, and more on our Discord, so please check it out!

Question 22

When are Stretch Goal rewards fulfilled?

Accepted Answer

Stretch Goal gift fulfillment will vary based on the reward. Fulfillment of these will be communicated after the campaign ends, but most of the digital gifts should be fulfilled by January of 2027, and the physical gifts will be fulfilled tentatively in May of 2027 - but they will be sent with all physical backer rewards. Other gifts, like events, will be scheduled after the end of the campaign on a date after fulfillment of the physical rewards, allowing for plenty of time for people to plan for the events. Everything will be communicated on our Discord server and via email.

My VIP email is different than my Backerkit email. Is that a problem?

No. With the link you will receive to your VIP email, you can access the VIP reward tiers, even if you share or forward the link to an alternate email address.

What happens when the campaign ends?

Accepted Answer

After our campaign ends, you'll receive a receipt for your pledge. It is important to check the receipt to make sure your pledge went through successfully. We won't be able to deliver items to pledges that didn't go through, so please double-check!

Once your pledge is confirmed, you can relax knowing that your Dragons! Dragons! Dragons! products will be made soon. But there's more to do! We'll send you a BackerKit survey where you can add more add-ons if you want. This is also where we'll charge for shipping. All shipping costs will be calculated in the BackerKit survey.

Important Note: We will only delivery physical items to backers who: 
A. Successfully pledged to one of the physical reward tiers.
B. Successfully pay for shipping in their BackerKit survey.

Why are you publishing "Dragons! Dragons! Dragons!"?

We are twin brothers who have been playing D&D since we were in middle school, at 12 years old. We started with "Hero Quest" and quickly found "Basic D&D" and then AD&D 2nd Edition. we've been playing since, and now we're in our late 40s. We loved many campaign settings, from Ravenloft to Dark Sun, Al-Qadim, etc. One of our favorites was the epic Dragonlance, and over the years, we have played many WOTC-produced adventures and campaigns, and came to the realization that there are very few with Dragons in them. The game is literally called "Dungeons" (which we got plenty of) and "Dragons"! So where are the dragons!

The few times we DID encounter a dragon, it was a disappointing encounter, to be honest. The dragon mostly did "claw, claw bite" or "brath weapon" and we found ourselves simply rolling dice and calling out numbers. The excitement of actually ROLE-PLAYING an epic dragon battle had been turned into more of a video game button-clicking session.

Then, we backed a few Kickstarter campaigns from independent publishers, many which promised "40 new dragons!" or some such claim, only to be disappointed by the fact that these simply included only a handful of dragons in different life stages (baby, teen, adult, elderly, for example) and called each of those a "new dragon". It was disappointing and deflating.

So we set out to create a supplement we would want to hold in our hands and play with for the rest of our D&D days... and we came up with an idea to create unique dragon breeds that would surprise, amaze, and terrify players and their characters! We want these encounters to be the first time that the PCs consider whether or not to run away. And we want the battles to go beyond just rolling, and move to actual role-playing. We think we have something with this set, and we hope you find it as fulfilling as we do.
