We have been working with the printer to get the final kinks worked out of the print files.  Without going into too much detail - there was an embedded image problem that showed up when they started the process of prepress.  We needed to take the files back and have the graphic design team go into several dozen pages and make changes to the files to remove the remnants and clean the print files.  That moved us back to the beginning, having to start the prepress process again from scratch with the new files.  

We apologize that the issues have moved our expected on-press time back by several weeks.  The files have been cleared, and we are looking at starting up the process again at this time.  

The only issue currently pending are the prototypes of the metal slipcases which are being worked on separately from the print books.  Those too are very close to starting up the factory manufacturing process.  

The printer will be confirming with us their available press time within the next few days. As soon as we can give a projected printing and shipping date based on their input, we'll post another update with those details.  We hope to have this information by Tuesday of next week.  Thank you.

The printer just checked back in with us about the corrections that were needed on the print file.  The first pass consisted of a few dozen minor problems with the files that we worked to get fixed.  Now the second file pass has come back and we are down to just 8 problems which are being adjusted to meet the specifications of the printing process.  Our production team is working on getting those changes made and uploaded to the printer for another pre-press pass review.  We expect to hear back on that shortly.

The printer is also working on the prep to have the different cover editions printed.  We received a few notes on the covers where certain details and bleeds need to be revised.  We're working on those changes right now alongside the interior adjustments to get us to a point where the covers and interiors are ready for press.  Based on our progress we're expecting these issues to be resolved in the same timeline.  

We are also waiting for photography of the metal slipcase prototypes.  We know the printing process for these real metal slipcases is complicated but the printer is keeping us updated on their progress with the factory and the prototypes.  

As soon as more information is available we will post it up to keep you in the loop on the progress.  At the completion of the print ready process we should have the timeline for the manufacturing of the books to share.  

We just heard back from the printer on their "preflight" work of prepping printing files to go to press.  They reported a few dozen small issues that need to be resolved with the source file to make sure the books print flawlessly.  These issues are all minor - mostly they are issues with bleed or resolution from the original files that were obtained.  Our graphic design team is making changes as needed and expects to have resolved the issue within a week.

The printer is working on the metal slipcases and is still determining the manufacturing timeline.  They're colleting the necessary raw materials to initiate the production process at this time.  Our factory team has confirmed that they will advise every step of the way with production of the slipcases.  We'll communicate their updates here as they are made available.

We are expecting the ETA for the production samples on the collections soon.  We'll update and post pictures of the physical prototypes as soon as they are in hand.  

The factory is working on the final details of the Terminator Metal Slipcases and the ETA for printing of the omnibus editions.  They have asked for an additional week to put the final information together.  We are hoping by the end of next week we'll be able to outline the timeline for the printing of all the books.  It has been a crazy year for items being manufactured overseas with a lot of ups and downs.  We still don't know today what the final disposition will be for these items but we're working with our printing partners to make the books as amazing as they can be. 

As soon as we have the printing details from the factory, we'll get another update out so everyone can be in the loop on the upcoming production timeline.  

Our pledge manager for The Terminator is now approved and open.  We just sent out the smoke test - which is about 5% of surveys to make sure everything is running smoothly.  Usually within a few days after those early surveys are approved the full surveys will be sent out.  By the later part of this week all surveys will have been sent.  Please be sure to check your Backerkit associated emails and always pop into the junk/spam folders just in case it gets snagged in that filter.
