Project Update: Terminator Slipcases Update - Early Samples Arrived
We just received in early samples of the newly created revised Terminator Metal Slipcases. And the good news is that they look fantastic. The revision to the exterior looks great - they are much better protected to withstand wear and tear from display now. Also - the interior felt application is thicker and protects the book finish more than the original did. Both of these improvements should mean that your books are better protected on your bookshelf.
The printer anticipates that the inventory will be fully prepared for shipping within two weeks and the remaining books and slipcases will begin their ocean freight voyage to the US. We will keep you updated on their progress as we get additional information from the factory.
PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: Terminator Softcovers Have Shipped - Update on Slipcases
We have been working very hard to get the Terminator books shipped out to everyone. But the situation has taken a turn that no one expected and we want to give everyone an update on what is happening with all of the editions.
First - the soft cover trade paperbacks have shipped from our distributor as of this week. Everyone who ordered the soft covers and/or any of the ancillary items should have tracking and be on the lookout for packages coming to you. The email tracking may show up as "Blue Door" in your notices. Just in case you don't recognize the address it is coming from.
The Slipcases are a problem. We got them in and it was noticed immediately that most of them have a substantial factory flaw. The short version is that the way the metal finish was done - it is "wearing out" a spot and leaving a pretty substantial discoloration.
We could not ship these out the way they are. Fans want these to be perfect and we can't give everyone something we know isn't as good as it should be. So we had to scrap the run and have the factory re-make these. Fortunately they have all the tooling already set so it isn't going to take six months to make them but we did go back and forth to ensure that they were done correctly. It will take about four weeks plus about another six weeks worth of transit time. That means we are looking at around September 15th.
We know this news is frustrating. But we could not send out the flawed items to you. It wouldn't be right.
We are in touch with the factory regularly and will continue to update you as soon as we have more information about the completion of the new run of slipcases. If anyone has questions about your order please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to answer whatever questions you have.

PROJECT UPDATE
Project Update: Terminator Collections Expected at Port by Early April
We just got an update from the freight company who has confirmed that the Terminator Graphic Novels are expected to arrive at the port in New York by early April (by 4/3 - 4/5). Once the books arrive, they will be inspected and cleared from US customs. At that point, they will be unloaded from the shipping container and put on a rail car heading toward our distribution partner.
That means - we should be looking at receiving the books locally some time in mid April (estimate). Once the books are in our hands, we'll begin prepping packages for the first wave of fulfillment to backers.
The factory has also confirmed that the Terminator metal slipcases should be shipping to us from China by the end of April and expected to be on hand in the US by the end of June. We will keep everyone updated on the slipcase progress as soon as we are able.

Project Update: Terminator Collections Printing Has Completed & They Are Scheduling Shipping Wave One From the Factory
We are happy to report the Terminator collections have completed printing. The factory was able to get them palletized, through customs, and delivered to port the first wave of the collections before they broke for Chinese New Year. We are waiting to hear from the shipping company what the schedule is for the books to be put in a container and be placed on a boat for transport to a port in the US. With the holiday we may not have those details until early March. But they are projecting that the shipment from the factory should arrive in the US by sometime in early April.
That date is not set in stone yet - we need to get confirmation from the shipper. But it is what we are currently being told.
Once they arrive at the port - they would need to be unloaded and then loaded on a train to ship to our fulfillment location. Usually you add another 3-4 weeks for this process.
If everything goes smoothly - we could be shipping Terminator Trades, Hardcovers, and Deluxe Editions by May. We will keep you posted at each stage with updates on the projection for arrival.
Please note - the factory has not completed the metal slipcases. They will be shipping after the books arrive. Once we know what the status of that shipment is we can give everyone additional details on that final piece of the puzzle. We will update again as soon as we have more information.

Project Update: Terminator Printing Schedule - Production Line
We have another update on the Terminator graphic novels production to share with everyone. The printer supplied the following video which shows the final stages of production for one of the Terminator volumes. We follow the trimmed, folded, gathered, and sewed final interiors of the book through the cover binding process. At the end of the video we can see finished books being palletized before going to the next stage (boxing).
Here's the video:

We expect to see additional progress soon showing the books being prepared for shipping. We are on the precipice of Chinese New Year - at which time the factory closes for several weeks for this national holiday. Because of that schedule we may have to go a few weeks without additional video updates until they return and are able to show us the progress of the books moving into shipping. We will keep you updated as we have more information to share.
