Updates

We just received word that the Terminator collections have arrived from port at the distribution hub where customer orders will be filled. The books are being received right now from the truck they arrived on.  In conversations with our distribution partner, they expect it will take a few days to receive, count in the books, account for any damages or missing goods, and begin preparing for shipping.

As of right now - they believe we can start shipping orders to backers beginning by this time next week on 9/23.  That means we will start seeing tracking information sent from USPS as orders are prepped and shipped. Once the shipping begins we can start notifying everyone of the progress getting through the open orders. We currently expect that it will take approximately three weeks to ship everything out.

We just got word that the boat with the Terminator hardcovers and slipcases arrived at the port in New York! It took longer than expected. While details are scarce about the actual boat passage - we were notified that there was some kind of snag hit during transit the cost them about 4 extra days. 

But the big news of course is that they have finally arrived in the US. The port right now is checking in the inventory from the container ship (thousands of containers). As they are evaluated they will be cleared from customs and then routed by rail to our distribution hub in Pennsylvania. The normal turn around time for this process is approximately two weeks (assuming there isn't a problem of some kind).

We are hoping that means that around 9/18 the books will start their journey to the distribution hub. Its a short distance and probably won't take more than a week to get there and be received.  We are prepping the team at Blue Door so that they can step right in and begin shipping books out immediately upon inventory arriving. 

So what does all that mean? Basically we believe that by the end of the month all remaining orders should begin shipping to backers. We will keep everyone updated on the progress as we move through the orders. By Halloween everyone should be enjoying these books!

Our shipping partner, Blue Door, is currently in the process of shipping out hardcover orders. At the moment, they expect to be wrapping up this batch of orders by the end of next week. For those of you receiving hardcovers without slipcases, you should have received tracking information already, and you will see movement as they go out over the next week.

For those of you waiting on orders with slipcovers, the boat bringing them to us is currently in the water. While it is difficult getting updates once the boat has left port, we are currently expecting them to arrive at the port in NY by the end of August. We will be working to get everything to Blue Door as quickly as possible so we can process the remaining orders and get them out to those backers, and we will be posting updates as we get solid information on their arrival to port and to our distribution partner.

We have received two of the Key Issue chrome cover reprints from the printer, and we have been in contact with them daily to get an ETA on the final book. They have experienced a shortage of the cover stock required to print those books, and they are working with the paper mill supplying them to get what they need to complete these books as swiftly as possible.

We received a new update from the factory today. The Terminator Slipcases have all been checked on quality control and packed with the Terminator Deluxe Hardcover Omnibuses! They're now being compiled by the factory into cases in preparation to send to the freight forwarder and begin their journey to the US. 

The factory expects that they will be able to complete the packaging and prepping by Monday and that the books will be dropped off at the shipping company immediately following.  They have confirmed that as of today we are still looking at an expected US port delivery of 8/30.

The shipper has all of our information for the books to arrive at the port in New York and be shipped via rail to our distributor.  They anticipate one week for receipt, customs clearance, and shipping to occur on the US side. That will mean that we should be able to start shipping the balance of the orders immediately upon receipt at our distribution partner.

We will continue to monitor the status of the shipping and provide additional updates as soon as we get them. Our hope is that by this time next week we are confirming the freight forwarder will have received the shipment and have them beginning the ocean freight process.  

We just received in early samples of the newly created revised Terminator Metal Slipcases. And the good news is that they look fantastic. The revision to the exterior looks great - they are much better protected to withstand wear and tear from display now. Also - the interior felt application is thicker and protects the book finish more than the original did. Both of these improvements should mean that your books are better protected on your bookshelf.

The printer anticipates that the inventory will be fully prepared for shipping within two weeks and the remaining books and slipcases will begin their ocean freight voyage to the US. We will keep you updated on their progress as we get additional information from the factory.
