Project Update: Terminator Challenges & Cool New Resolution
Hey there resistance fighters,
We've been struggling with a challenge on with the Terminator Collections that no one saw coming. When we set up the program, our printing factory quoted the ability to produce the metal-jacketed volumes we solicited. These were cardboard hardcovers with a printed metal cover applied over top. What we've been dealing with over the past few weeks is a situation where they no longer can provide that service. The printer isn't able to print and adhere the real metal finishes to the books. That put us in a very challenging situation.
But like the resistance, we fought and scraped and got creative to find a way to improve on the situation with what we think is a pretty awesome solution. The metal jacketed books will now feature a faux metal finish that will be shiny like metal with a special process and materials to make it reflective. But the previously cardboard slipcase for the metal editions will now be METAL! In some ways - this solution makes for a better display option for your collections. Like the old steel-book DVDs - the slipcase will have the heft and reflectiveness of real metal to display on your bookshelf. The factory is working on slipcase prototypes so we can show everyone what these new enhanced slipcases will look like. Â
We know this may be a concern for some fans - and if you feel the upgraded metal slipcase is not the resolution you want to proceed with - we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to discuss your options. But we do believe that the slipcases are going to be very cool and we hope you are as excited as we are about the new opportunity. Â
Watch for additional updates coming as we get new details on the products. Once it is finalized we will be able to update the shipping ETA for the collections. Â
