Updates

Hello folks! Sorry it's been so long without an update -- I could have sworn I'd posted one but it seems it languished in drafts. I've had a health scare and been helping out with a family member, but here's the important stuff.

1) The books are printed and ready! I have everything on hand. However--

2) Some stuff has changed with shipping. I had a feeling this would be the case, but unfortunately it's mostly bad news. The first of these is that while GULA was able to be shipped by letter mail when I checked during the initial days of the campaign, that has changed and the book is now too large to go by lettermail. It's possible this is a matter of me not paying attention and the book size changing without me realizing the issue, but Canada Post has been making a lot of changes over the last year or so, not all of which have been appropriately publicized. As a result, Canadians will have to pay parcel prices instead of lettermail.

The second shipping issue is the fuel surcharge put in place by Canada Post as a result of the disruption in Iran. This one really has me mad. Essentially, it's an extra charge to counterbalance the skyrocketing costs of fuel. As a result, the shipping charges going out soon will likely be higher than hoped. I'll be getting them out within the next week or so, barring any further worldwide disruptions (eyeroll, I hate it here).

The good news is that the books are gorgeous, as are the prints. In fact, that leads me to number 3), which is that I have some more prints on hand right now of other art pieces. I'll be making another post in a few days, offering up some of these as extra prints, since they don't take up much space in packaging, as a gift to help counterbalance the unexpected extra shipping costs. 

Finally, 4) -- I know the ebook trio is late! It is in fact finished, and will be posted either today or tomorrow. Thank you all very much for your patience.

Hello everyone! It is PUBLICATION DAY! I'm so excited to get this baby out into the world.

Sadly, today is only publishing day for the e-book, but it won't be long before the paperbacks are ready, so keep your eyes peeled! Nevertheless, the e-books ARE ready. If you've finished your survey, you'll have gotten a final notice that orders are being locked; once they're locked, then the GULA e-book and Revenant's Hymn e-book will distribute. The e-book trio needs another day or two, but I'm optimistically hoping to have it up and ready tomorrow evening. (For those who are curious: The delay is largely in creating an accessible version of Carrion City. So it's all just finicky stuff.) Your e-book distributions will include pdf, mobi and epub of each book, and GULA will not be going up on regular platforms until all digital distributions are finished. 

If you have NOT YET FINISHED THE SURVEY. Please do so! That's important! If you could swear you've done the survey but you're still getting reminders, double-check; if you're still having trouble, submit a request to BackerKit and they'll get it all ironed out for you. 

Finally, I'll be taking care of prints and jewellery in the following week. (So really, do, pretty please place any last orders.) Thanks so much, everyone! 

Hello all! The time is nearly here -- the books are off to the printer and the digital downloads are almost ready! Launch date is March 15th!

With that in mind, a few housekeeping notes: There are 8 people left who haven't filled out their surveys. Please do so as soon as possible! If you can't find it or are having trouble finding BackerKit communications, check your spam -- BK communications have been getting sorted into there for a lot of people. Everything will be locked on the 15th.

Hello everyone! $324 CAD has been donated to UNRWA -- I put it off for a bit for a number of reasons, but February is also a slow month for donations overall so I'm a little glad I did. Plus, a lot of resources right now are going towards Minneapolis, which is far from a bad thing, but does mean that Gaza and Palestine as a whole are seeing fewer donations, so our funds are coming at what I suspect is a very good time. 

Surveys are going well with a 77% completion rate. If you are one of the 17 people who has NOT yet filled out your survey, please do so! It gives me crucial information such as shipping address, confirming your add-ons and offering a few additional bonus items. I want to have them all done before the end of the month and I will start hounding you personally in a week or two.

Hello folks! Smoke tests for the survey have been sent out -- please double check your email inboxes (including spam) to check if you're one of the lucky few to have gotten yours. Once the smoke test is done, I'll be able to send out all the surveys and get that taken care of.

Where we're at: Edits for the Revenant's Hymn special edition are almost done, as are the ones for the Singularity. Carrion City will be getting a small update, as will Post-Traumatic Anatomy; the essay for GULA is almost done and I'm just finishing up citations.

I'm also trying to get my SubscribeStar set up this month! So if you're interested in seeing my work on an ongoing basis, I post my essays, reviews, and other articles early here for subscribers, and on my website for everyone.

Some schedule updates: Publication date is now moving to mid-March, with preorders opening for everyone outside of the campaign on Feb 15th. Please keep that in mind and fill out your surveys promptly once you receive them!
