Packing station for Volume 8!

If you remember this part of the Volume 7 campaign...yeah, this is almost exactly the same. (The stack of boxes in the back even includes the last unopened box of Volume 7s from last year.)

When you get a process that works, don't mess with it, you know?

Speaking of process: this is the step where I need to figure out who gets the original cover lineart.

As usual, for everyone who got a ticket this year, I put the names in Pickerwheel.com, and the winner is...

I'll be getting more of the US rewards in the mail this week. For everyone who's left, I should lock your shipping addresses some time next week. Keep an eye out for that update email.

The boxes of Volume 8 have arrived!

About half of you, including all the US backers, should have gotten the "Last chance to update your address" email. After 48 hours, those addresses will be locked, and I'll start packing.

Most of them should be in the mail in a week or two. After that, I'll lock the rest of the addresses and start shipping the rest.

Cat-sniffed, cat-approved:

...I actually approved the Volume 8 proof to my printer a week ago, I just didn't get around to posting about it.

And then BackerKit sent me one of those automated "it's been a while, you should make a new post!" emails. So here are some photos.

As usual, the proof isn't a fully bound book. It's just enough to make sure the colors printed nicely and the paper stock feels good.

For the other two, I've sent an email to get reference images. Keep an eye on your inboxes.

Volume 8 paperback: I reached out to MyBookPrinter as usual...and it turns out my regular point person there, the staffer who makes sure all the Leif & Thorn orders match, is retiring in a few months. (Well-deserved, I'm sure.)

So I have to loop in somebody new. And at this point I figure I'll just wait until after Christmas, since everyone involved is probably either on holiday, or deserves to be.

Which means:

There's still time to catch any errors in the ebook...although so far, nobody has. No typos, no missed strips, nothing. Did I really get that lucky this year? A personal first...?

The Volume 8: Tread Softly ebook is live in the online store!

Backers who got ebooks, look out for an email from BackerKit with your discount coupons for 100% off.

If you got multiple ebooks, the coupon links will all be in the same email. If it doesn't show up, you can also find the download info in your backer survey.

Any trouble using the links? Drop a comment, and I'll double-check that I didn't make a typo somewhere.

If you have a shipping/add-on payment to make, you're getting a "time to charge your card" email first.

Once the payment goes through, the ebook coupons will show up...some time after that. (This isn't all automated, I have to poke some things manually, so don't worry if it doesn't happen right away.)

If you spot any typos, duplicate/missing strips, or other issues in Volume 8, please let me know! The high-resolution files have not been exported yet -- there's still time to fix issues before I send anything to the printer.
