Below is a link for the beta files for War Is Hex. Both a printable trifold and a screen friendly version. This is being shared with all backers, even at the $1 tier at this time. There will most likely be a few tweaks and modifications between now and the version that goes to print which will then be shared with folks who backed at the appropriate tiers.
"War Is Hex is a supplement for any TTRPG using a hex or gridded map to represent an ongoing war of two or more factions. It gives a table the ability to play in a living world where front lines move, forces dig in, and battles change the terrain, quickly and without pages of crunch. WIH is intended to make adventures more meaningful by allowing the players to have a direct influence on the course of a war and for that war to have an impact on the players’ future adventures."
As mentioned above this is a Beta version and we are welcoming any and all feedback. If you have any questions or comments on WIH please submit them to:
Regarding the greater project, our starter missions are in the process of being edited and will soon be ready for artwork and layout. The Field Guide is being chipped away and if all goes according to schedule will start the editing process at the end of April.
War is Hex - the system neutral mini-game that will be used for representing the ever moving front lines of an active war is almost done! We have a bit of layout and polish, but we hope to have the PDF in your email boxes by the end of the month.
Mission Zines -the two mission zines Operation Gate Latch and Assault on the Owl's Nest are well under way and will be going out to our editor at the end of the month.
Chimneyhaus Update: This will most likely be the next digital release after WiH. The map is finished and the additional tables that tie into Hell in a Hog Waller are almost complete. James is also working on a pamphlet adventure that will connect the two settings.
Baron's Grip Cross Collab: This pamphlet is complete and M. Allen Hall has sent to the printer. It will be delivered with physical copies of The Baron's Grip.
The Field Guide: The main setting book for Hell in a Hog Waller is in various stages of draft. Once the two intro zines being edited this will get our full attention.
From there all the print materials will be going to more editing passes and layout. This will take place at the same time as a lot of interior art being created.
Next updated (besides PDFs being sent out) will be in the middle of Q2. In the meantime please don't hesitate to hit us up with any questions.
Brett from Fey Light Studio here. I want to say thank you all so much for making Hell in a Hog Waller not only a reality, but a huge success! This is a project that has been in my brain for over two years. I can't tell you how much it means to see it come together and become a tangible game that folks will read and play.
All of the projects that were part of the discounted group shipping (like ours) are figuring some things out on the back end since Backerkit is treating it like one massive pledge. As we near the home stretch of Mausritter Month I wanted to share one last piece of art I've created for Hell in a Hog Waller, a wartime setting for Mausritter.
Here is the city of Stonewall, one of two major settlements located on the outskirts of The Forgotten Field. Safely ensconced between walls of stone the mice here have thrived over the years. No longer needing to worry about food or safety they have turned to the finer things in life such as crafting, inventing, theater, art, & music. But used to a hard days work these mice are anything but soft, and that's a good thing for war is coming to their very doors.
A huge city with forges, crafting halls, a hanging garden, bustling marketplace, countless warrens, the theater district, and so much more to explore. All well lit by the numerous gas lamps that make this stonewalled paradise glow all day long.
Less than four days to back and share Hell in a Hog Waller and all the other great projects of Mausritter Month.
Thank you all so much for your support and making this such a great community!
Below is the work in progress of the Chimneyhaus map update.
And some exciting news I'll be joining Matt from Manadawn Tabletop Games, Andre from Games Omnivorous, and a few other Mausritter Month creators on a live stream today at 12pm EST (in just about 4 hours) here:
Also I just checked and we have passed the 10,500 mark, meaning you amazing folks have helped bring to life the 1 page PDF mission Trap Thieves! Thank you!
Quick project updates:
Updates to Chimneyhaus will be complete this week - new map and a spread tying together Hell in a Hog Waller and Chimneyhas
War is Hex has entered layout - this is 1 page front and back document so this will be a pretty quick turnaround project
Operation Gate Latch - revisions based on playtesting feedback
Up Next:
Character Sheets finalized - level 0 funnel characters, wartime mice character sheets, & sheets for allies; such as turtle tanks, rabbit fast attack creatures, etc.
Continue writing and illustrating The Field Guide
Thanks all, hope to see you on the live stream today! Brett - Fey Light Studio
