We officially reached our funding goal for A Place to Belong: The Story of Fox & Polly!!
When Fox and I decided to share the story of him and his little chicken with the world, we had no idea where it would take us. We just knew their friendship was something special and that maybe their story could mean something to another child or family too.
And now, because of all of you, this book is going to become a reality.
Every pre-order, every share, every message and every person who told someone else about Fox & Polly helped us get here.
You didn’t just pre-order a book. You believed in our little story before there was even a finished book to hold in your hands, and that means more to Fox and me than I can explain.
We still have lots happening behind the scenes as the illustrations are completed and we work toward bringing the finished book to life, and we can’t wait to take you along for all of it!
And the campaign isn’t over yet! Every additional pre-order helps us reach even more children and families and allows us to give back even more, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Autism Canada.
But today, we’re just celebrating this one.
We reached our goal. Fox & Polly are becoming a book.

Seeing the first pre-orders come in for A Place to Belong has been pretty surreal. This story started with a little boy and a chicken who became best friends, and watching other people believe in their story enough to help us bring it to life means more than I can probably put into words.
Every person who backs this campaign is helping us get one step closer to printing this book and getting Fox & Polly’s story into the hands of children and families.
Something else that was important to Fox and me from the very beginning was finding a way for this book to give back to the autism community.
That’s why a portion of the proceeds from A Place to Belong will be donated to Autism Canada. I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with their team and we’ve been having some really exciting conversations about ways we may be able to work together. I’m hoping I’ll have more to share about that soon.
For Fox and me, that makes this book even more special. We aren’t just sharing his and Polly’s story. We’re hoping it can help make a difference beyond the pages too.
