Thanks so much for your very generous support of Fragged Kingdom 2, and a special thanks to those who have shared this campaign with friends. 80% funded within the first 48 hours is a great number, and I look forward to bringing in more of the Fragged community.
For my first update I thought it would be nice to take a look at a new part of the Fragged universe that Kingdom has introduced – the Creet!
This is Jotar (and his loyal sekhound Rök).
Introduction
Created by the evil god Dos, the crystalline Creet have long distrusted all deities and hidden away from their selfish schemes and untrustworthy magic. Primarily in the distant northeast of the Whispering Jungle (Verdant Creet) and the volcanic southern mountains of the Blood Stone Desert (Ashen Creet), the Creet have been so effective at remaining hidden that their presence was not known until they were discovered during the Druidic War just two centuries past. There are undoubtedly more hidden Creet nations to be found.
The Creet were enslaved by the Archdruid to fight in his great war, and by the Twi-Far Drasong Clan for cheap labour and to be sold to the Holy Kingdom of Catla. The majority found their freedom with the civil war that created the Kingdom of Ire. Some have sought to return to their ancestral homes but most have remained to forge themselves into a new people (Unveiled Creet) that are starting to make use of techno-magic and worship gods for the first time.
Creet are famous for their crystalized bones and skin, and are a hardy and good-natured people who love to work with natural wood, stone and crystals. They consider metal a culinary delicacy and love to keep animals as pets.
Species Stats:
+1 Construction and Forestry.
Resistance 2 (Stacks).
Calm animals do not have run/eat instincts towards you.
Traditional Creet do not have family names, their names are paired with a patronymic name that identifies their father. A matronymic name is used if a father is unknown, banished or if they belong to a small matriarchal sect.
Most modern Creet from the Kingdom of Ire have started to use crystal-themed family names.
Secret Insight The Creet were genetically engineered by the Archons to be a stepping stone on the path to creating a true silicon-based species. They were given their own nation that spanned multiple star systems and were renowned for their durability and capacity to flourish on harsh worlds with limited resources.
When the X’ion War began, the Creet were quick to adapt and held back Nephilim aggressors on multiple fronts. As their allies crumbled they were slowly surrounded and worn down. Believing all others to be dead, they sent out thousands of refugee convoys in a last-ditch effort for their species to survive, hoping against all odds that a few would escape and find a new home far from the Nephilim.
One such convoy arrived on Akharon, and discovered a remote and uncolonized world where Mechonids had defeated an unknown Nephilim army. The deadly robots were slumbering and the remaining Nephilim were mostly feral beasts, but both posed a significant danger to the desperate Creet who were ecstatic just to be alive.
The Creet spread themselves out across the planet and buried their spacecraft (in what would come to be known as Sacred Dens). In the coming years, they destroyed or buried most of their advanced technology and hid away in caves and secret villages to avoid detection from Akharon’s many threats. These dangers grew over the following century as the planet was further infected with psionic nanites (creating enchanters and Fey), ghostly echoes (Wraiths) and otherworldly energy beings known as Faren (Ethereal Spirits).
The Creet became obsessed with the need to hide and developed a robust culture that shunned ‘gods and their magic’. They even remained hidden during the years when the planet was colonized by the spacefaring Corp, Kaltoran, Remnant and Twi-Far. All outsiders were seen as a threat, and the Archon known as Domios (a name that fed into the myth of the Eternal god Dos) who had led the team that created the Creet became demonized as a villain.

Dos is a insane Palantor MVP or Mechonid who lives within a massive swarm of psionic nanites.
Oh wow... the FE1 table of contents page... can't believe I made this a decade ago.
Creet in Fragged Empire I've always planned to introduce a crystal species into the Fragged universe, even back in Fragged Empire 1st edition Core Rule Book. The crystal ship in this artwork is now canonically a Creet ship! There is also mention of silicon species in the FE Location Guide book.
