We’ll be using BackerKit for pledge management post-campaign.
We are partnering with Quartermaster Logistics for our fulfillment.
TBD
We have all add-ons available as part of the campaign, and you will have the opportunity to increase your pledge and purchase additional items in the pledge manager.
Currently, we are only developing Eldritch Automata in English, but we will consider localization as demand sees fit and determine the best way to offer other translations post-campaign.
Yes! You’ll be able to select additional add-ons post-campaign through the pledge manager!
No, we currently do not intend to offer print-on-demand through DriveThru RPG, which is where the PDF will be available.
We will be working on the Homefront supplement and Edge of the Apocalypse books separately from the rewards of this campaign. They will be delivered to all backers as PDFs later once they are completed. Print copies of these books will also be available for purchase after the PDFs have been released to backers.
Digital backers (Civilian tier) will get *all* stretch goals as PDFs or digital delivery. Furthermore, Thank You and Civilian tier backers can purchase add-ons to receive physical rewards. As such, if you would like to receive ONLY the deluxe edition, you can go back to the Thank You tier and then add the Deluxe Seraph Edition as an add-on.
We do not have plans at this time to release a solo mode for E//A with the core rulebook. We are considering what this would entail and may release it in the future though!
If you already get one Dossier from your rewards (at the Horror tier), you will still need to buy two packs as add-ons to get all three. If you get two from your rewards (at the Seraph tier), you only need to purchase one as an add-on. If you don't get any (Automata tier or lower), you only need to purchase two, and you'll receive all three!
We have a Quicklaunch Guide available, including a quick reference book for the rules, a starter scenario, and eight pre-generated characters for free through DriveThru RPG.
Our general structure for in-between Automata fights is exploration and socialization. Combat between human combatants and other humans or smaller Horrors is very frequent in the post-Advent world of Eldritch Automata, which can make exploration terrifying. Socializing with other characters and NPCs and building relationships via our Strand gives you a mechanical way to track your personal connections and even lends itself to reward you later. In the most recent playtest of an extensive campaign, our time in-between battles has been chock full of exploring the setting and investigating the mysteries of the post-Advent Day world.
Eldritch Automata is currently designed to be a theater of the mind game like other Year Zero titles, but there's nothing stopping you from creating your own maps and minis, and we have references to size and scale for maps in the rulebook.
While there are some similarities to CthulhuTech, the differences outweigh them. We're using the Year Zero Engine for the foundation of our mechanics with a dual-character system where you build out your pilot and your mech. We also have developed new mechanics for leveraging your pilots' personal relationships and emotional state to push your automata further and harder, as well as unique equipment and mech customization mechanics. Plus, we're not using any existing Cthulhu Mythos lore in our game whatsoever, so any similarities would be introduced in your own games!
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
