Nightfell – The Witches’ Path is a 2014 - 5e sourcebook dedicated to Witchcraft, drawing inspiration from Italian and European folklore, and enriched with brand-new legends surrounding arcane traditions, ancient covens, and the obscure secrets of the cult of Agabbadora. A perfect companion for your dark-themed campaigns and sessions.

Inspired by the folkloric legend of the wandering witch, this new playable class was born to embody those unfortunate souls who, kidnapped as children, are branded by the witch covens of Iùrmen to be twisted, or enslaved. Witchlings are marked by a fate both dark and timeless. They are walkers between worlds, attuned to the entropic forces that shape reality, and capable of peering beyond the Veil to glimpse the memories of the Hags of ages past.

They are neither Warlocks, nor Druids, nor Sorcerers. They are not devout, nor chosen.
They are receivers and interpreters of the mystic disorder that slithers beneath the skin of Iùrmen’s corrupted world. They endure only because they have learned to speak with the energies that lend their voice to witchcraft.




From a mechanical standpoint, the Witchling is built upon a framework that could be described as warlock-esque, yet it is reshaped entirely to serve its own unique identity. Druidic influences blend with subtle sorcerous elements, without ever overwriting their source inspirations, thus forming a spellcasting class with distinct features that faithfully reflect key aspects of witchcraft in the world of Nightfell.

At the core of its gameplay lies the channeling of Entropic Spirits, paired with the uncovering of Ancient Secrets. These forces intertwine with its subclasses, known as Seals: spiritual and narrative archetypes that shape the Witchling’s spells, powers, and the nature of their bound Spirits. There will be five Seals in total, each embodying a different lineage of the witches of Iùrmen, the original creators of these forbidden marks.

Set in the desolate world of Iùrmen during the Lunar Age, Nightfell unfolds across lands abandoned to darkness, where the sun no longer shines and ancient peoples have vanished. The last divine forces, the Primes, still linger, untouched by the corruption seeping from the realm of Ènferun.

The Moon, Mirithlen, now governs the skies, her divine light is both a blessing and a curse. Her ever-shifting phases shape the world, empowering rituals, awakening horrors, and altering fate itself.

In this dying land, twisted creatures roam, spirits linger, and reality falters. Your choices will determine whether hope endures or the darkness claims all.





This volume expands the world of Nightfell introducing Asvizert, an uncharted mysterious region of Iùrmen.

Frozen in time and shrouded in eternal mist, Asvizert is a land of towering glaciers, spectral silence, and forgotten powers. No known people had ever crossed its borders, until now. After more than a century of perpetual night, the first contact between the Secret Folk and the inhabitants of the Known Lands has finally occurred.

Here, primordial mysticism has endured untouched by the known cults of Iùrmen. Ancient rites, whispered from soul to soul, remain untainted. The Fàyekin, a resilient people born of frost and isolation, now face a revelation that will shake their very foundations: the truth of the Last Sun, and of what followed.

In these unforgiving lands, the grip of the witches is ruthless. Their dominion here is absolute, their influence deep as the frozen roots of the world itself.

Explore new territories, uncover long-buried secrets, encounter terrifying native creatures, and awaken a unique playable ancestry shaped by snow, shadow, and spirit. The mists of Asvizert have parted, but not without a price.

Thanks to your support, the darkness takes form. The witches of Iùrmen sharpen their ritual blades, ready to carve a new and terrifying tale into stone.




Immersion is everything, especially when evoking the horror atmospheres of Nightfell’s shadowed world. Just as we did in the past, we will enrich the experience with brand-new thematic tracks. Once unlocked, this digital OST will be added for free to every pledge.




The Witches’ Path already brings new playable options, but with your help through this campaign, we’ll be able to dedicate more time and resources to creating additional subclasses for players, complete with unique illustrations to bring them to life.




To expand Nightfell’s already vast token library, we’ll release a new free digital pack for every pledge once unlocked. This bundle will include portraits for playable characters, NPCs, and monsters, ready to use in your favorite VTT.




This stretch goal will further expand their repertoire. Should we reach this milestone, The Witches’ Path will feature two brand-new subclasses: one for the Wizard and one for the Druid. Each will embody the haunting themes of the setting. These additions will give players even more ways to channel the occult mysteries of Nightfell in their campaigns.




Creatures have always been at the heart of Nightfell, a focus that earned the Bestiary a Gold ENnie Award. With this stretch goal, we’ll enrich The Witches’ Path with 20 brand-new creatures, expanding the bestiary chapter and making monsters and beasts another core feature of the book.




Some may have guessed it: the Grim Moon Studio logo is, in fact, a Lich. This stretch goal celebrates our studio’s third anniversary: with your support, we’ll finally give form to our own Grim Moon Lich, complete with stat block, lore, and illustration. It will become a new boss for Nightfell (or any 5e campaign), officially entering the lore of Iùrmen as a lasting symbol of your support in bringing us this far.




Just like the previous subclass expansions, unlocking this goal will add two new thematic options: a Bard and a Cleric subclass, broadening the character options for spellcasters.
 



We already plan to add new spells to this sourcebook, but reaching this stretch goal will let us go even further. The spell list will expand, enriching your characters’ grimoires with brand-new arcane options. As always, these goals empower us to dedicate more time and resources, involving authors, artists, and collaborators to create the most complete book possible.




Here's the final stretch goal!  This horrific creature has long been one of our signature monstrosities. If unlocked, a detailed 3D sculpt will be added as a free, printable STL file to every pledge, so all backers can bring this nightmare to life at their tables.
