Project Update: critter tail design update: mini note!
Hi again! Last update on this hopefully - After reading over some of your comments, I had one more idea for critter's tail and wanted to propose that and let you know exactly what kind of issues we're looking at for the original tail.
As far as the new idea, I thought in order to avoid any white showing through on the tail, we could do 3 applique stripes, and sublimation print on half of each stripe: so an orange stripe with a dark pink sublimated at the base of the tail, a yellow stripe with a green stripe sublimated on the second half of the stripe, and a blue stripe with a purple stripe sublimated on the tip of the tail. I still need to pitch this idea to my manu to see if it's feasible, but I thought this would be a good middle ground and would make the sublimation printing look a bit better, since instead of white visible under the colors, it would be an orange undertone for the pink, yellow undertone for the green, and blue undertone for the purple.
The issue that we're likely to encounter with the original design is the stripes not matching up at all and/or deforming the tail shape on over 60% of the plushies. because it is so so small and fiddly, even though my manu has expert makers working on them, it'd be impossible to avoid on all of them. This is something I'd like to avoid because I will loose a lot of our funding for other rainbeanies on having to order extras of critter to compensate for this and then having to sell the excess of B grade plush at a lower price.
Please check out the poll and let me know what you think! :)
