BackerKit FAQ
How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
Is there a limit to how much we use the digital codes provided by this project?
Not at all! Feel free to use the POD as much as you like! Use the codes to provide all your players with copies of the game. Give copies away as gifts. Help us get the game into as many hands as possible. That being said, there is an expiration on the codes, and that will be March 5th of 2025. So please, take advantage of the codes while they are available.
Quite a few options here are essentially asking for Backers for imput on the game's design. Why is that?
I could release The Aethyrblood Chronicles today if I had the artwork (which is the whole point of this project). It is a complete game. That being said, my hopes are that we build a community for this game even this early in its creation. No one has to give anything though. I believe my game a lone will impress.
Can you explain what a POD is, and how to get a physical copy of the game?
POD stands for Print On Demand, a service provided by DriveThruRPG whereby your physical copy is printed at the time of your order. Simply sign into the site and place an order for The Aethyrblood Chronicles Core Rule Book using your POD code provided by BackerKit and Haphazard Projects.
Does the game have an Alignment system?
Absolutely not. They game is designed so that each player can role-play their characters however they choose!
The game seems very text-heavy. Is there an app that makes character creation simplier?
Not at this time. Such things are not in my wheelhouse. Now, that being said: if the project pulls in enough funds to create something like that, I'd be more than up to collaborate on that!
How are you running this campaign?!
Short Answer - long-term. Basically, from today until the next Friday the 13th of this year, which is in September. Long Answer - Between today and September, I will run this campaign with the community as it builds. We will shape the course this project will take. We will work together to create new pledge levels, add-ons, stretch goals and many many more prospective items and events! Join our community and let's build the campaign the way you'd like to see it!
