Project FAQ
We DO NOT. None of the cards are written by AI, laid out by AI, or have artwork made by AI in any capacity. We do not work with artists who utilize AI. Heartleaf Games is a company made by people, for people!
Both! The language of the Harmony and Bestiary decks uses the rules language of 5.5e, but stat blocks are 100% compatible with the original 2014 publication. The Champions and Powers decks have not yet had their rules text updated, but it goes both ways, so if you ONLY have the 2024 handbook, you're still good!
Thank you for supporting us!! As part of this project, we're advancing the release of the Bestiary deck while Summer in Dungeon Town and the wagon models continue to be worked on. You won't have to pay a second time for the deck to get it here; if you backed it with Summer in Dungeon Town and add it to your cart in this project, you will *not* have to pay again, you only pay for shipping (which has not been charged in Dungeon Town). If you've got any questions about this, please email us directly at [email protected]
I mean it's done! The characters have all been written, and the art is in hand. Cards are laid out in Lexi's InDesign templates. There's some lingering layout and artwork quibbles to work out as we get into manufacturing, but this project is meant to fund the physical, real production of the stuff!
The creators of Heartleaf Games have utilized their long and storied history of commissioning artwork of their TTRPG and RP characters for the purposes of hiring cool people that draw cool stuff. We also scour social media, hunt artists at the cons we go to, trawl art sites, check out portfolios sent our way, and even pull from our own Discord community! We love to collaborate with artists all over.
Our printing partner, Bestrand Printing, has been with us from the very beginning of Heartleaf. They are reliable, and make things. These aren't the first decks they've made for us, and we'll be vetting the new cards with samples before production begins in earnest. Other products - the GM screen, the binder, the adventure - are brand new, but we're confident in the process. If for some reason there's any delay, we'll be letting you know! Freight shipping being its own beast, the timeline of getting the goods from the printer to our office so we can fulfill them to you (we handle our own fulfilment!) can vary greatly. We expect less than a month once the printing is done for it to get to our door, but if it's gonna take longer, we'll let you know and tell you why. Once it's here, we'll waste no time in getting it to you, though!
The six-pack of adventures from Summer in Dungeon Town is already determined! Secrets of Louvain is *not* part of that six-pack.
They are not! The decks and the Moon & Rose pack all come with pre-determined sets of cards. No random foils, no rares, no loot boxes here.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
