Howdy, everyone! It’s been a few months since my last update, so I wanted to catch you all up on what’s been happening behind the scenes with Against The Clock. A lot has been moving forward, and I’m excited to share the progress.
🏗️ The 3D Building Prototypes
In my last update, I mentioned I’d be sending the factory a prototype of the 3D buildings. Before doing that, I needed to make sure all the artwork was finalized, which meant working closely with The Game Crafter. My usual colleague there was out for a few months, so I worked with someone new. They did a fantastic job, though we hit some normal communication hurdles along the way that slowed things down.
Once everything was finalized, I had to wait for the prototype to be produced and shipped to me (about a month turnaround). From there, I sent it to the factory—only for it to get stuck in customs in China! The factory had to physically go down to the Customs office to get it cleared.
The good news? As of yesterday, the factory officially has the prototypes in hand, and they’re confident they can replicate them 1-for-1. I can’t wait to see what they produce.
They will copy! :D
🃏 Revamping the Loot Cards
I also mentioned that we found a new factory to produce the loot cards for better consistency, and we decided to reprint even the original starter set cards. This gave me the chance to revisit all of the text—tightening up the verbiage for clarity, improving consistency, and balancing gameplay.
Some loot items have been reworked, which meant running plenty of playtests to make sure everything felt fun and fair. I’m confident the changes are solid.
On top of that, each card now comes with a bit of lore flavor—a little quote or reference that ties it into the broader High Nooniverse. It brings each item to life in a way I think you’ll really enjoy.
📖 Expanding the High Nooniverse
Speaking of lore, I’ve also been working behind the scenes on building a High Nooniverse Bible in World Anvil. This will be a comprehensive encyclopedia of characters, locations, and timelines that fans can use to explore and even create their own stories and adventures.
It’s been a big undertaking, but one that’s going to make the world of High Noon richer and more accessible for everyone.
Still a work in progress with a lot left to do, but you can check it out here!
That’s the latest update! Thank you all again for your patience and support. We’re pushing forward step by step, and I can’t wait to show you more in the near future.
