Hey again! Sorry for the double update, but someone wanted to see what I have so far for the rest of the postcards, which is fair since you guys currently have nothing to go off of.

I have had these thumbnails since before the campaign launched, but as you can see they're extremely messy so I didn't really think I wanted to post them in this state. Since I was asked to, though, here we are!

These are just very VERY messy thumbnails of me trying to get the general composition down. They may change when I get around to working on them more.

As you can see I also have not yet had the chance to sketch the dullahan, but I'll post him up when I do have something. :)

I hope this helps give you an idea about the rest of the postcard set even if they are super messy!

Apologies that it's taking me so long to get these done. It turns out trying to juggle 3 campaigns that are in various stages of fulfillment is pretty difficult. 😭 I appreciate your patience!!

Meanwhile, tariffs continue to rise. It's now been raised to 145%. It's almost comical at this point. Expect some delays in the fulfillment timeline for me to figure out the best way to navigate this mess.

Hey guys! Quick update for you because I finished the Chupacabra postcard today and wanted to share it with you!

He was so fun! Bright green isn't a color I typically work with and it was a fun challenge :D I think he turned out really fun, and I hope you guys like him!

Hi friends. Today I bring you an update that unfortunately isn't a very happy one. (Just wanted to note that some of this is copy + pasted from the other update I made on my other recent campaign.)

As I'm sure you may have seen/heard, there's a bit of a situation going on: tariffs. The president has been enacting and threatening tariffs on goods coming in from out of the country, upwards of a possible combined 104% tariff on goods coming from China.

As you may or may not know, pretty much all pins are manufactured and produced in China. This includes 100% of my pins. This means that all the pins I'm making now may be subject to a 104% tariff, which effectively doubles the original cost I had budgeted for all the pins I planned to produce both for this campaign and my other recent campaign (Sugar & Spice).

As you can imagine, this is...not ideal. When it was a 54% tariff, I was very unhappy, but I was sure I could begrudgingly cover that cost if I needed to. But 104% is...devastating. It's not sustainable for me, even a little bit, nor is it sustainable for other artist producing products; this isn't limited to just pins, but it extends to other products produced in China like keychains, bags, plushies, and so much more.

The good news for backers: I will not be charging more than you already paid for the pins, nor do I plan to increase the shipping costs outlined in the campaign page. I don't think it's fair to you backers to increase the costs you have to pay after I already set expectations.

However, I do want to be upfront that if these tariffs do in fact go through tomorrow, there may be some delays in fulfillment. I am going to talk to my manufacturer and see if once the pins are done being made, they can hold onto the pins for a while to wait and see if the situation improves and try to find a window of opportunity to have them shipped to me with as low possibility for high tariffs as possible.

Meanwhile, if you feel compelled to help, I have made a "tariff/tip jar" add on in the survey that you can contribute to if you want. Absolutely no pressure at all, but it's there if you want to chip in.

If you want another option for how you can support me and other artists with this tariff uncertainty, you can take a few minutes to find how to contact your state representatives and senators and send them a message asking them to fight to prevent these tariffs from going into place.

Speaking of surveys, I have completed it and it's currently under review with BackerKit staff. Once it's approved, I'll send out the smoke test surveys, and if those go smoothly, I'll send out all surveys. Hopefully that will all happen within the next day or two. Please keep an eye on your email over the next couple days to look out for your survey link.

This also serves as a reminder that filling out your survey is mandatory, it's not optional. The survey is where I collect information about the items you're receiving and your shipping information. If you don't fill out your survey, I can't send your pins.

Pay Over Time backers: If you selected to use Pay Over Time for your order, you won't receive your survey yet. BackerKit will not send your survey until your order is paid in full. Once it's fully paid for, you'll automatically receive your survey.
