Happy Spring, fellow Party-goers! It's time to take it outside! 🎉
Oh texture, my beloved, you look so beautiful...
We've got an update with several fun pictures for you to gander at! Currently Perfect Crime Party is finally heading toward the printer after a slightly-lengthy review! 🔍
The spines of the book signatures! I just think it's neat how a book comes together, don't you?
I personally love seeing the shine and texture on black print. You can't get that in a PDF as much as those rock too!
Proofs have been approved for production after a small delay. A few edits had to take place for the printing to look clearer and be more readable but now that that's over, we're currently slated to begin the printing and put-together process. These photos that have been included in the update are from the second proof run, so you're all getting a little sneak peek at the final product before everything else gets stitched up for the cover to be added!
Thank you all for being here and a part of this production! We cannot wait to share this criminal collection with you!
This is a bit of a late update, but we've got news to share for Perfect Crime Party for all our fellow partygoers!🥳
We've officially finished all the proofreading and are moving on to bringing the party to the printer's place! As of this post we already have arrangements going and are just waiting on the proofs to come back to review and make sure that everything is clear and readable! This is one of the reasons that this part can seem like it takes so long. What was great on the PDF doesn't always pop in regular lighting, though, so it is important.
Hopefully we will have some physical proofs to show off to you all by the middle of next month, and then it is on to waiting for the production to complete! 🥂
What this means is that we are also currently on track for release date, which we're very happy to be able to report! I'll be back with another update as soon as possible!
Hello Partygoers! 🕵️♀️ Sylphy here with a small update for you on the status of our books! Currently the majority of the first wave of content review has been completed, and we're working on the little bits and extras in our production design. Which means mostly spellchecking, organizing the complementing design layout that fits all the different styles of our cooperating artists together, and drafting a table of contents that sets the mood for the stories you pick to read first. We want to make sure that aesthetically the book feels complete!
Once everything looks to be finalized, we'll be giving it another beta lookover to make sure that nothing is typoed or missing a vowel -- and then it'll be on to printing proofs. The proof prints are for us to make sure the printing looks clear and has no visual artefacting from the files, that all the typeface is legible, and that the contrast does not make anything fade into the background.
Hopefully by the time that rolls around I will have some photos from the rest of the team's review to share some teasers with you!
At $25,450, we've reached the end of the line! Thank you all so much for helping fund production and printing of PERFECT CRIME PARTY! 630 lovely criminal accomplices have jumped aboard the train to help make that happen! 🎉 September has just gone and blown away into October, it's hard to believe we're already at the end of the first week! Before any more time gets away from us I wanted to give a summary of where we're at:
This is our 43rd project to date, and we're so happy that you're all here to sink your teeth into the perfect crime! Thanks to all 630 of you, we were even able to make our goal of giving our artists a pay bump as well!
The funds from the backing will be collected some time over the next 3-4 weeks, so you will want to make sure the amount you pledged is available in your accounts shortly in order to receive your rewards without any hiccups. If your funding fails for some reason, we can attempt again if an email is forwarded to us at [email protected]. Just let us know if you have any issues!
Once the funds have been collected, a survey will be going out some time after to ask you for your shipping information. We'll make an announcement when that happens of course to nudge you to check for yours. If you've been here before you know what to do! If your address changes after you have already locked in the address, send us a message to the email above as well. You should have plenty of time to get that done, and we'll let you know here when the time to fill the survey is coming to an end.
Periodic updates for where we're at in the production process will be posted here when available. I try to make it at least once per month or when an important update is necessary, so stay tuned!
Hope you all have a great weekend, thanks again! 💛
Thank you to each and every one of our 494 accomplices in crime (I had to update this twice while writing it, you guys rock!) currently backing Perfect Crime Party! We're on the final week of funding with just over $580 to go to our goal! I would love to see this happen so our artists can spend the rest of the week excited to see their comics come to print, so if you can, please show this page to your favorite crime-time investigation liker! 👀
Anyone who has already backed: you still have time to pick up a couple other volumes from our library as well and save on some shipping! Could we interest you in... space? 🚀
An anthology about what happens when Faster Than Light travel is instantly- and chaotically- democratized. Everyone has access, for better... or for worse...
Imagine. It's the first half of 2018. You wake up 6 months from now, log onto your computer, and find out that near-instantaneous intergalactic transportation can be installed in your 15 year old Toyota Corolla that doesn't even have a USB for just about $200. Where are you going?
Personally I think I'd end up in a black hole with my luck. It's space! Our great backyard where none have gone further than the moon. Until now.
This anthology of stories in a post-Earth exploratory universe ranges from the first few years of entrepreneurial starseekers to those looking to just catch the flight they booked to the galaxy their spouse works in. The first feelings of waking up after eleven months of sleeping in space stasis as you chat over coffee. And just how willing a ship is to save its captain. With over 15 different stories to read it's sure to get your mind thinking of a future that may, or may not, be too far off.
Below for you to sample is Soft Physics by Blue Delliquanti, showcasing how even in the farthest reaches of human-faring space there's no shortage of drama, or those that keep up with it...
