🪲 Survey Bugs Fixed! 🐝 + Combined Shipping Info~

🪲📝 Survey bugs squashed! (pun intended lol)

The survey I sent last week had a few bugs/errors that showed up after it sent out. I had to wait until after the weekend to hear back from BackerKit support, but we fixed the problem together this week and everything should be running smoothly now! 🎉

If you notice anything still acting weird, please let me know and I’ll fix it ASAP.

📦 Combined (Pin Quest) Shipping info~

This shipping section only applies to those who who backed both Pin Quest: Myths of the Underworld + Pinned & Preserved campaigns:

➡️ International backers:

After doing some research about combining two separate international orders into one package, I found that this isn’t the best option for shipping. Combining the value on customs forms can cause some major delays, extra fees, or cause packages to get held up.

Worse case scenario, Customs can even destroy a package for incorrect documentation. Even if I gave a detailed list of both orders, combining separate orders creates a single higher-value shipment that causes a bunch of issues. So because of this, I can't offer combined shipping for international orders outside the United States. I know this is disappointing, but I don’t want to risk any of your packages getting stuck at Customs or even worse, destroyed 🥺🙏🏼

➡️ U.S. backers:

Basically everyone answered that they wanted the combined shipping, so the survey should now reflect the added shipping credit~

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! 🎆 🎊

Hello everyone! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! I hope you are all staying safe, warm, and having a great time as we start off 2026~ 😊🙏🏼

I wanted to share an update on where things are at and why there has been a slight delay in surveys going out. I also have pics of the new and highly anticipated Orchid Mantis, Madagascan Sunset Moth, and Scarlet-Bodied Wasp Moth designs! Let's start the update~

📝 Surveys coming in the next few days!

At the moment, I am waiting on the Backerkit Team to return from their Winter Holiday Break so they can approve my surveys and release them to you all 😊 The team has been out of office since Christmas Eve and will be returning on January 5th. As soon as they are back and approvals are completed, surveys will be sent out ASAP so I can get the final counts over to my manufacturer to start production ^_^

🙏🏼 The reason for the delay (if you didn't see the previous updates)

Long story short, the delay came from running Pin Quest, Pinned & Preserved, and Pintober campaigns back-to-back with very little downtime in between campaigns. On top of overlapping campaigns, I was also dealing with several unexpected family emergencies that made it difficult to keep everything moving on the original timeline I had planned.

➡️ Back to back campaigns:
While running Pin Quest, an artist a part of the upcoming League of Science pin event asked me to join and asked if I could do more insect pins like in my Rebirth & Ruin campaign. I happily agreed and was honored to be invited to the group and started working on some new designs. However, I didn't fully anticipate how tight the schedule would be in between setting up & running multiple back-to-back campaigns, cleaning up lineart, and preparing artwork for the next event. I originally planned to have more time between Pin Quest and Pintober to clean up/vectorize the artwork, but with the added insect pin campaign I had to put a pause on cleaning up the designs in order to run the events on time.

➡️ Family emergencies:
During the middle of running Pinned & Preserved, my mom was hospitalized due to a severe spider bite infection that required multiple surgeries to clear out of her system. Thankfully she made a full recovery 🥹🙏🏼 Shortly after this, there was a cancer scare that required more testing back at the hospital, but thankfully that all came back negative. After this happened, my closest grandma passed away which was a very difficult loss to deal with on top of everything.

Once things settled down, I jumped immediately back into my work cleaning up the Pin Quest lineart for my manufacturer. I also finished the last insect pin designs for the survey, and started preparing for Pintober. Balancing campaign work in between these 2 family emergencies caused some delays getting the surveys out, and for that I am truly sorry. I'm doing everything in my power to get everything rolling out, and I'm really excited to announce all the new things happening~

💪🏼 The great news is that I am finally at the point where art/surveys have been finished and production is ready to start on these pins as soon as all survey counts are finalized! 🙏🏼 This part is easy because I just count everything up, send it over to my manufacturer and just wait for them to be made~

All while these life events were happening, I was still hard at work in the background finishing up these last few pins for you all 💖 The Orchid Mantis and the Madagascan Sunset Moth will be available to unlock in the survey at the same discounted campaign pricing <3

🪲 Life Update + Pin Reveal! Plus a Little Muerte & Magic~ ☠️🔮✨

Hi everyone! 💖

Thank you all so much for your patience during this time 🙏🏼 I know it’s been a little quiet on my end, and I want to keep being transparent here in these updates to keep you all in the loop.

➡️ Life Update (no worries, everything is okay!)

If you didn't read my last update, my mom ended up being hospitalized after a small spider bite turned into a serious life-threatening infection. Not that long after writing the last update, my mom's infection began spreading all over her body and she had to be hospitalized for quite a while to go through multiple surgeries to stop and drain the infection completely. I spent the last several weeks driving back and forth between home and the hospital to be with her during this time.

When she was finally able to come home, we had to go through several follow-up appointments to confirm that everything was alright. It took so long going to multiple doctors because there was a potential cancer scare that thankfully turned out *not* to be cancer (they described it like a layer of fat cells that grew rapidly after the infection, and ended up forming a non-cancerous lump that kept showing up in the MRI). It’s been a long and emotionally draining time dealing with all this, but my mom is finally fully recovered and is doing so much better now 🥹🙏🏼

I'm so sorry for the delay getting back here to give an update, my mom going into the hospital was the last thing I was expecting to happen as I was wrapping things up. I wanted to let you all know I didn't forget about the campaign at all, and I’ve actually been working really hard behind the scenes to keep things moving along 🚂

✏️ Stretch Goal Artwork Reveal! 🪲

Luckily I finished the majority of the pin art in between visiting my mom. The only pins left for me to finish are the Scarlet-Bodied Wasp Moth, the Pink Orchid Mantis, and the Madagascan Sunset Moth 💖✨

I've had the rest of these pin designs done for a while, but I never had the chance to sit down and form an update revealing them. Finally here they are, I hope you love them!!

In between my mom's recovery and finishing the stretch goal artwork above, I also had to wrap up details for a project I signed up for earlier this year: Pintober!

🌿 Thank You for Supporting Pinned & Preserved! 🪲💖

First of all, thank you all so much for your incredible support during Pinned & Preserved and for joining the Super League of Science event here on BackerKit!! 🥰💖 I wanted to wait at least a day to post this update to give your inboxes a little break from the wave of "campaign ending” emails.

Because of you, this campaign was an amazing success and the most interactive campaign I've ran so far! Thank you so much again, I can't wait to revisit this Entomology series later 💚🌿

🪲 Stretch Goal Artwork Delay
I want to be transparent with you all about why the final stretch goal artwork has been a little delayed. Ironically while wrapping up this insect-themed campaign over the weekend, my Mom was bitten by a spider during her trip to visit our family in Mexico. Luckily it wasn’t venomous, but the bite did cause a serious infection and I had to rush her from the airport straight to the hospital when she got back last Sunday (About 3 days before the campaign ended)

The good news is she’s doing so much better now. Her recovery is slow, but headed in the right direction 🥹🙏🏼 It’s been a bit of a scary/exhausting time for me and my family since we had already lost my Dad a few years ago. So that's why I wasn’t able to finish the stretch goal artwork before the campaign ended (long drives to the airport/hospital/home + dealing with this situation has left me physically/mentally exhausted)

I have most of the lineart done, just not all the colors/details finished yet. By the time I build the survey, I should have everything finalized.

✨ Next Steps:

I’ll be finishing up the stretch goal artwork this week/weekend
Surveys will be built and sent soon so you can confirm your pins and add any extras if you’d like
I’ll also be catching up on comments and messages I missed from this week (Thank you for your patience while I try to balance my family life and the campaign 🥺🙏🏼)
