THANK YOU! Last Light Station not only funded, but soared past the stretch goals laid out at the start of the campaign. I’m bowled over by the level of support I received, and very excited to get it into your hands.
Let’s talk briefly about the timeline. Writing, editing and layout will take place over the next few months. Then, in June you’ll have the pre-print PDF version of the zine! I’ll allow some time for folks to report errors and to finesse any layout details before going to print sometime in July or August. That puts us on track to fulfill in September!
Now, I’m giving myself a super generous timeline to allow for any snags in development, but at the moment, I don’t foresee anything delaying progress and hope to have things out sooner. I’ll keep y’all updated monthly here letting you know how things are moving along, and sharing WIP pieces from the module. For now though, I’m gonna take a deep breath, spend a couple of days on the coast, and let myself appreciate the support you all have shown.
Great work, y’all! We passed $7k which means every backer will now get digital map codes for the Mothership Companion app! As I mentioned in a prior update, there will be a map for the station as a whole, as well as some simple maps expanding the sections (e.g. there will now be a map of the entire entertainment district). I’m also including PNG versions of the maps as well, for those not using the app for their games.
What’s the last stretch goal? Well, if we manage to hit $9k: RADIO LAST LIGHT comes to life! I’ll flesh out the in-universe radio station with an expanded digital release, audio broadcasts and a custom mix. It may seem far away, but you’ve all continued to amaze me with the level of support, so why not aim big? I’ll check in when the campaign ends in about 17 hours and see where we’ve landed.
Cain Sun is in the final 48 hours of their campaign! If you back it AND Last Light Station, you’ll get a free digital tri-fold adventure written by Waco and I!
Nice work everyone! You've unlocked the 3rd stretch goal: character sheets for each NPC. I talked a bit about these in the prior update, so I won't bore you with the same details. Needless to say, I think these will be a handy addition to folks running and playing Last Light Station alike.
Next up, digital map codes for the Mothership Companion app! There will be a map for the station as a whole, as well as some simple maps expanding the sections (e.g. there will now be a map of the entire entertainment district). These will include PNG versions of the maps as well, for those not using the app for their games. Let's do it, y'all!
I am still bowled over by the support y'all have shown. I'm so excited to get Last Light Station into your hands, and with some great bonuses thanks to hitting a couple of the stretch goals!
The first is music by Bonnie Jeanne. They've previously created music for my modules Radio Free Hekate, Hecate Cassette Archive and Sunlit Path. Now, they'll be tackling a couple of karaoke tracks. Anyone who backed will get the digital audio files with both vocal and instrumental versions. I'll have a lot more to say about the music and such as the project moves along. In the meantime, check out Bonnie's solo bandcamp and her band Tiger Electric! You can also hear the song she wrote for Radio Free Hekate HERE.
The second stretch goal is a printable bookmark with a map reference on one side, and quick NPC stats on the other. I'll be finalizing that after the text, so previews of that will be forthcoming. I always find these kinda things handy as a warden, so hoping you all find it just as useful!
Alright, let's hit that next stretch goal: Full character sheets for each NPC. The NPCs inside the zine have basic stats, but what if one of your players really takes to Messenger IV, and wants them to tag along when they leave station? Or maybe they want to PLAY as cybersurgeon Dr. Tressa Reign? These character sheets will give complete stats/saves for each of the major denziens on Last Light Station, along with full loadouts, skills and some bullet points about the NPC for quickly jumping into character.
Last thing, I promise! Zine Month is formally ending soon, so there are some great projects entering their final 48 hours that I wanted to shout out: Cain Sun [back it and Last Light for a free adventure module!], Von Hynd Manor, Twisting Unseen in particular. Some others funding now that have caught my eye: Rumored Blades #2 and Residue! Until $5500...
