Hello Softies!

I bring a fun update! We have production photos of ALL the Softies! All plushies are now in final stages before completion, and I've requested my manufacturer to extensively QC all of them for me. I trust my manu wholeheartedly and am so excited we're almost at the final stretch.

Once QC is complete (it should take around a week or so, bar any delays), they will be shipped and on their way to me. Shipping will be via sea freight, which can take anywhere from 30-45 days, depending on how badly the ports in the U.S. are backed up due to the tariff situation. Though Trump has "temporarily delayed" tariffs against China, things are not entirely fixed. We are still experiencing a lot of awful consequences, which unfortunately is out of everyone's control.

Hello Softies!

I hope this email reaches everyone in good health, both mentally and physically! I wanted to just drop in and let everyone know that production continues to go smoothly, and there are no new surprises. (That's a good thing when it comes to production for anything.)

As of now, all stickers, sticker sheets, and the acrylic "Emotional Support Softie" keychain have been completed and arrived safely at my home. Now, all we are waiting on are the plushies.

Please note that due to how the U.S. tariff situation has been for the last month, and now with news that a 90-day suspension will take place soon (thank freaking GOD), I anticipate shipments from China will be much smoother in the following weeks and months. However, I won't count all the eggs in my basket yet, because things can sometimes change within hours. Let's all just pray the clownery is over soon.

Thank you all so much for your patience as they are made. I promise that everything is proceeding smoothly, and that I'll update you all as soon as I get good news!

Hello Softies!

Currently, we're in a production lull, and things are still being made as I make this update. As of now, the stickers and acrylic keychain have completed production, while plushies are still in production. Here are some cute photos to tide you over with:

Aren't they adorable?! Please remember that the McMadmissile stickers are only available while supplies last, and I cannot guarantee everyone will receive them from this point forward. Those who pledged during the campaign are guaranteed them, and I will do my best to ensure all preorders until this point can receive them, too.

If you have still been on the fence, you may still preorder any Very Huggable Softies merch from Backerkit's Preorder Store or from my BigCartel Online Store. The latter lets me save some money (I don't need to pay the 5% Backerkit processing fee), so please consider preordering there instead. It is just as secure as preordering from Backerkit. 

As for tariffs, I do not have much good news to share. However, I'm receiving information from my Chinese friends and manufacturers stating that that come early May, something has to give, and they're all hoping things go back to normal.

For those who may not have kept up on the domestic (U.S.) side, at least 12 states have sued the Trump administration, and multiple small businesses have banded together as well to file lawsuits as well. 

I hope that despite all of this turbulence, things can return to normal soon. Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding as we all navigate this unprecedented and difficult time.

Hello Softies!

Before I start off with updates, please ensure that your credit cards are ready to be charged. As of this email, 16 cards are still declined. I must remind everyone that should any portion of your order be unpaid, I will not be able to ship you your order when the time comes. Please check with your bank and/or credit card company to fix any issues.

Now, let's start off with... bad news, but I will preface everything by saying that none of you will incur tariff costs, so please rest assured.

Currently, I'm navigating these tariff woes with my manufacturers, and it looks like shipping across the board as increased pretty significantly. For example, the cost of shipping a similar shipment that originally cost me $450 now costs $860. However, since the status of these tariffs seem to change every two minutes, it could be that tomorrow, next week, or whenever strikes Trump's whimsy, these tariffs will be paused or canceled, bringing shipping costs back to normal. No one knows, which is why this is such a struggle at the moment.

All of the Softies are still in production, but I wanted to bring this to everyone's attention and let you know that this absolutely affects all of us. Please continue to support small businesses as best as you can. We all sincerely appreciate your patience as we navigate these unpredictable whims.

Hello Softies!

I didn't think I'd be back so quickly with another update, but this is really important, so please be sure to read everything carefully.

First off, I've gone ahead and charged all cards that were on file for preorders and shipping confirmations. However, I am still having trouble with 22 people's credit cards, as they were declined. Please take the time to look at if your charge successfully went through, or if you need to update your payment method. Please note that failure to fix errored charges will result in you not receiving your order, so let's try to avoid that! I want to get you all your goodies in the end!

Next up, I'm sure the news has been buzzing around everyone's ears about China's tariffs. Surprise! All my merch is coming from China! *sobbing*

But what does this mean for all of you? I'd like to explain:

The most common question I've gotten is: Will you impose tariff charges on us? And the answer is NO. All preorders and pledges that were placed before this mess happened will NOT be subject to any extra fees or costs. Please do not worry at all.

Now, should these tariffs negatively affect me to the point where I am bleeding money, I may open up some kind of donation (GoFundMe, Ko-Fi, etc.) to help offset my losses. But these are all hypothetical at this point, and there's no use worrying.

For now, please continue to pay attention to the news, and please be aware of what is happening to all small businesses and creators. We are human, just like you, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we all navigate these uncertain waters.
