Project Update: Status Update
Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for the radio silence on this end, my life outside of work has been a bit of a tornado recently--
I’ve been tied up in the hell circus that is moving cross-country while battling a mysterious flea infestation; every step of this process has been a trial. After spending a solid two weeks contacting over 100 landlords and available properties and getting any sort of response from a fraction of those, we were more or less forced to jump on the first lease offered from anyone.
From there, we had about a week to get packed and ready to make the 8ish hour trek from Nebraska to Chicago, during which the aforementioned flea infestation manifested seemingly overnight, making our packing far slower and messier than we realistically had time for. A lot of stuff had to be left behind in the rush, we conceded to just having to make another trip at 5am the day we left after countless hours trying to make it work.
Moving in itself has been exhausting, our apartment is a third floor walk-up in a building with very tall ceilings (which is great in the apartment!) and steep stairs. I know it’s definitely taken its toll on my health; all of my chronic conditions are making themselves very known. We’ve just made it back from that trip, a 34 hour turnaround of driving to Nebraska, packing and cleaning, somewhere between two and three hours of “sleep”, more packing, and finally driving back home.
Things are finally calm enough to get unpacked and for us to settle in, however. My PC has been set back up as of yesterday, allowing me to actually resume work since it’s been packed away for a few weeks.
Surveys should hopefully be going out within the next week, and manufacturing starting shortly thereafter!

I am so, so sorry for dropping off the face of the earth during this mess— it’s taken everything I have to just keep on top of all of the necessary factors of this move. I’ve been incredibly stressed trying to get it all pulled together enough to get back to work, and I’m glad to have the worst of moving behind me now.

Good god, how stressful. Honestly I wasn't worried at all about the silence, personally. Please be careful with yourself! This campaign can't happen without the center designer being in good health and spirits. <3 Take a little recovery time if you can, and we'll see you soon! Wishing you health and rest from all of that 😭 <3

Growing up in a military family, I've been through a "few" moves. I understand totally. I trust you are doing everything humanly possible and as such, I have complete confidence in you. ...and the project, too.
Welcome to Chicago.
