If you back for 1 pin, or a handful of pins, your estimated shipping will be on the lower side, if you get a full set of pins, or a lot of add-ons, your estimated shipping will be on the higher side. These estimates are based on fulfillment experience from late 2025/early 2026.

Outside the US
If you are pledging from outside the United States, you may need to pay customs, taxes and/or VAT. Unfortunately, I currently don't have a way to collect these fees, nor does Backerkit collect these fees. Hopefully in the future I can make pledging more convenient for international backers, but until then please note you are responsible for any import duties, taxes and/or VAT fees.
No refunds or replacements will be offered if your package is lost or returned as a result of refusing to pay these fees.
UK Backers
I currently don't have a way to collect VAT, so please be aware of this if you back this project! Apologies for any inconvenience.
EU Backers
I am shipping to the EU! I have spent considerable time & energy to figure out how to comply with EU GSPR rules. But as before, know you may be responsible for customs duties / taxes on your order.
Mexico Backers
As of October 2024, the Mexican Tax Administration System (known as "SAT") changed its General Rules of Foreign Trade, and it's mandatory to include a tax ID on all Mexico-bound shipments. All shipments to Mexico must include a recipient's Mexican Tax ID (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes - RFC) or National ID (Clave Única de Registro de Población - CURP).
I will reach out to any backer in Mexico to collect this ID to make sure your package gets to you. Please ensure your BackerKit email is one that you have easy access to/check often! If you cannot or will not provide this number, do not back this project.

After the campaign ends, you will be sent a survey to provide your address, pay shipping and choose your rewards. This survey will be sent to your BackerKit email, so please ensure you have access to this email address to prevent any delays in receiving your rewards!

Shadow & Brass is a project by Kira Night, and it's my second Pintopia campaign! I'm a digital artist and "real human" who spent most of my art career making indie book covers & contributing to book fandom projects (especially YA). Most of my book covers fit into the fantasy, horror and monster romance genres.
My personal work is often mysterious & horror-themed—but almost always combined with a romantic elegance.
You may request a refund within 30 days of the end of the campaign. I will not honor refunds after that. Instead, you can cancel your pledge anytime while the campaign is running and you will not be charged!
Risks/Challenges
While I have experience fulfilling 4 crowdfunding campaigns (3 collaborative, 1 solo campaign), unforeseen challenges can happen! Fulfillment could be pushed back due to shipping delays or quality control issues/manufacturer mistakes. Any delays or issues will always be communicated to backers via campaign updates.
Also note I am the only person doing fulfillment (with help from my husband), so please be patient with the fulfillment timeline. I will work as quickly as I can, but shipping every single reward will likely take 5+ weeks after I receive the pins. If you would like your reward shipped as soon as possible (say, in time for a birthday), please get in touch and I will see what I can do.
Pin Quality
I do not offer "S-grade/collector" grade pins or promise "flawless" pins. Enamel pins are handmade items and a truly perfect or flawless pin is next to impossible. That being said, I will always reserve the best quality pins for my backers.
Additionally, if a pin design has a consistent flaw that appears over and over again in the majority of the pins, I will have to consider that "standard" grade for that particular design. However, if a design has a huge/major flaw, I will seek remakes from my manufacturer, which will push the fulfillment timeline back.
Of course, any issues will always be communicated in campaign updates!
