We're on the home stretch! Just THREE days left until our campaign comes to a close. We are so thankful for your huge amount of support throughout it: from chatting in our community section to spreading the word on social media, Discord and beyond. As Legacy of Kain fans ourselves, we know how special this series is, and we are grateful for your trust and support in bringing our ambitious project to life.
Our final stretch goal is a premium set of pin badges! While we have some design ideas in the works, we'd love to hear from you: what would you like to see on your Legacy of Kain pin badges? It's only right that you have a hand in choosing the design for our final (ish) milestone. We'd like all your suggestions – from your favourite characters to most obscure Legacy of Kain iconography.
Pin badges will be exclusive to the Complete Edition. As a reminder: while we're looking into ways to make our Book of Nosgoth and Scourge of the Sarafan available in the future, the Complete Edition will always remain exclusive to this BackerKit campaign. For the ultimate, all-in-one, must-have Legacy of Kain collectible, these are the final days this edition will ever be available.
This may be our final stretch goal, but we are far from finished here. Even after 28 February, we will be working hard to add even more to this blood-cursed collection. You have suggested so many excellent add-ons that we are determined to make at least some of them a reality. We'll share more about this after the campaign.
But first, let's get to £500k!
(update: please note, while we cannot guarantee it, we are looking into packaging options for including pin badges in other editions - please read our pinned comment on this and add-ons etc!)
We’ve been quietly hard at work over the last few months collaborating with the fine folk at Crystal Dynamics to produce two products worthy of the Legacy of Kain name.
To that end, we are very excited to announce that we have also partnered with members of the LoK wiki community, including Monika Erosova (Raina Audron), Barry “Bazielim” Moon, Dylan Geraghty (Aveum), and a group no stranger to the larger LoK fandom, known as The Ancient’s Den, to help ensure we get everything right!
As unofficial lore keepers and proverbial light-bearers for the world of LoK, the book lining up with some of the known goings-on within Nosgoth are being thoroughly reviewed, confirmed, and put into ink.
The complexity of Legacy of Kain is one of the reasons why it has stayed in the gaming and storytelling zeitgeist, and by putting all of the knowledge and passion from The Ancient’s Den, alongside Lost in Cult’s incredible design work, we know that the Book of Nosgoth will delight and illuminate fans new and old.
Legacy of Kain faithful already know what amazing work Raina Audron, Bazielm and Aevum have done with the LoK Wiki, and we are thrilled to have them on board for our official project.
It’s of the utmost importance that the products remain true to the franchise, and we have an unwavering commitment to achieve that. We are really pleased to be working with such a passionate group, and grateful for the opportunity to do so.

Shining a spotlight on the Scourge of the Sarafan TTRPG today, we are delighted to celebrate the work of our writer and game designer, Leo Hunt.
Leo is such a joy to work with and continues to demonstrate why he was such a perfect fit for this game. We are collaborating on the game design to fine-tune the experience, and we are starting work on the artwork to accompany the written content. As you know, we assembled a fantastic team of talented artists, and we are excited to be able to share more in the future.
From the folks working on the project, we have some quotes from both The Ancient’s Den and a member of Crystal Dynamics’ franchise team:
“For over 15 years we at The Ancient's Den have worked tirelessly to preserve and illuminate the dark corners of the undead franchise that is Legacy of Kain: we've archived sources so that they wouldn't be lost, hoarded important information, fostered communities, exposed lost content - we've even helped develop games - and yes, most important of all, we've written an encyclopedia about LoK.
So, when the fine folks at Crystal Dynamics and Lost In Cult reached out and asked if we'd like to do it for real and assist in bringing an official Legacy of Kain encyclopedia to fruition - it was an opportunity we couldn't resist. We hope these pages will inspire a new generation of fans and document the history of this franchise as never before, as well as breathe new life into LoK for a prosperous future.” – The Ancient’s Den
“It is a real treat to work with the Lost in Cult team. They have such a high-quality bar. Combine that with The Ancient's Den's amazing depth of knowledge on the franchise and we’ll get the encyclopedia we’ve dreamed of. The TTRPG is also coming along, and fans are going to have a great time adventuring in Nosgoth.” – Max Zaleski, Franchise Producer at Crystal Dynamics

As a reminder to all backers, all physical orders will receive the free Bookmark & Art cards unlocked during our campaign. We will be sending out a brief survey in the coming weeks. For anyone who has been in contact regarding failed payments, do not worry, any failed payments on orders are still valid orders — this survey will give you the opportunity to change payment information. Please do so when we open the survey, so your order isn’t cancelled. It is also a chance for all backers to change addresses or make any other changes to their order.
Thank you for backing the Legacy of Kain: The Book of Nosgoth and Legacy of Kain: Scourge of the Sarafan. It’s such a privilege to be working on such a beloved IP and we are excited to share more with you soon.
Hello, hello, Kainhead (yes, we're going with that).
Just a brief update on where things are at currently, as I'm sure you're mighty curious!
We're still on track for our estimated 2026 release date. Written content for the Book of Nosgoth, and the Scourge of the Sarafan, are underway and progressing well! ✨
We are working closely with the dedicated team at Crystal Dynamics on an almost daily basis, ensuring that everything written is correct, approved, and in line with their internal lore, quality expectations, and keeping both items official under the collaborative eye of the CD team.
This joint, collaborative effort between Crystal Dynamics, Lost In Cult, and Cook and Becker means that we're creating these items to be the best they can be. If you've seen any of our past finished items - we recently just shipped Eastward: Design Works - you'll know the pure level of quality and focus that we put into every project we touch. It's deeply important to us that we create a timeless piece worthy of Legacy of Kain (and your shelf) for decades to come!
Also, as a reminder - we are preparing our survey and finalising the add-on store. We're also looking into ways to make our Legacy of Kain items accessible to those that may have missed them (minus the BackerKit exclusive versions and additions, of course). We'll update with more information on all of this when it's all finished and ready to go!
If you're experiencing any issues (i.e. with payments having not gone through, etc) pop an email to [email protected]. Please note, our customer service team gets stacked, so please only direct order queries here! 😉
We come with some updates and reminders. As you'd expect, we've been hard at work on both The Book of Nosgoth and The Scourge of the Sarafan. 🧛♂️
We'll keep you posted on its production progress throughout the course of the year and into the shipping period (still estimated for Q1 2026).
Firstly, some information for the small handful of backers whose payments have failed - fret not, your order is not lost, and your copies are still reserved. Once our pledge manager is set up and surveys sent out, you will have another opportunity to pay once your survey is filled in. Just make sure your payment method is up to date and has sufficient funds when you fill in the survey.
Speaking of which: our pledge manager will be ready soon, with backer surveys being sent out once it's set up. We'll be charging for shipping via this at a later date – we'll be sure to keep you posted on when that will be.
Lastly, we know that add-ons are something many of you were keen to see during the campaign - thank you for all of your feedback! We are exploring the opportunities available. We'll provide more info in due course, as we're working out some final bits and don't want to confirm exactly what will be available yet, but we just wanted to update you as we continue working on this incredible project.
That's it for now! In the meantime... who else has pre-ordered a physical copy of Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered for June? 🙋♀️
