I'm Luke, a trans artist, andI’m making these pins as a little present to the LGBTQ+ community, as a shield to protect you and a motto to remind you that who you are is wonderful. In 2021, I came to Kickstarter to crowdfund the original 9 coat of arms. You can view that Kickstarter here. Even way back then, I knew I wanted to make more designs to cover more of the plethora of identities that make up our wonderful community. This time, I come to BackerKit due to their stance against generative AI in favor of human creators.
Each element of each coat of arms has a meaning that'sconnected to the LGBTQ+ identity that the coat of arms represents. The motto for each identity is based on a quote from a historical or famous figure that aligns with that identity. The quotes were translated by Paula Aguero of signatranslations.com ([email protected]) to ensure the Latin was accurate and meaningful. I hope these coats of arms spread the feeling of belonging, because we are all in this together.
I regret that I can’t make a coat of arms for every single identity. There are so many flags out there and the list just keeps growing. I grouped some identities such as ace/aro/demi and bi/pan/poly. These identities are not the same, nor are they interchangeable. Each coat of arms is not a flag or a singular identity, but an abstract bundle of positive reminders aimed towards groups with similar struggles and traits.

It takes a month or two for the pins to get to me from the manufacturer. Last time around, it took me about a month to get them all shipped out. That being said, shipping is unpredictable these days. I promise every aspect within my control will be attended to promptly, and I will keep everyone updated with those outside my control.
