Project Update: Next Stretch Goal!
Project Update: Halfway There!
This weekend I will be at Terrificon in Connecticut so come say hi if you're local!
Thanks again to everyone who has backed the project. I can't wait to make these pins a reality.

We were $3 away from unlocking the next stretch goal, so I added another explanation mini-print to get us over that line and therefore one pin closer to the lesbian pin unlocking! (Also shoutout to the genderfluid/flux people backing this campaign, your pin's design looks very cool.) Making posts and comments in the community tab also helps boost this project in the algorithm, which is why I made this post in the first place 🫶🏻 ♀️🧡💛🤍🩷❤️♀️ I also just wanted to say thank you to Luke Beatrice Art, the campaign's creator. You have so thoughtfully designed each coat of arms with so many layers of meaning, incorporating mythologies of many cultures, magical symbols from tarot/astrology etc, having animals that so clearly represent who we are, finding and creating quotes that resonate deeply... A lot of pride pin campaigns are more simple, mainly incorporating each flag's colors in a single design element. That is of course awesome!!! But something like THIS, each coat of arms packed with layers upon layers of meaning, imbued with a sense of protection? A campaign like this really stands out in such a beautiful and meaningful way 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ The Sappho quoteS (plural!!!), the professionally translated Latin mottos with wording carefully explained, your strong stance against genAI, the emphasis on making room for nuances, the acknowledgement that each pin represents more than one individual group (discussing how none are interchangeable, but ARE bound by shared traits and struggles and triumphs), all of it means so much to me <3 I also want to take a minute to talk about how amazing the women-loving-women pin and the nb pin are. I'm old enough that I came of age before most of the flags that these pins draw from were in not wide circulation or even in existence at all. The six-color rainbow flag was what I and so many others rallied under and displayed and wove into our lives.*** A /definitive/ separate flag for lesbians/women-loving-women never really gained traction at that time. I'm sure you know all this; it's for the benefit of any others who might read this lol. Anyway, because when and how I came of age, plus my own experience of gender, I've never really gelled with the 2020s lesbian flag, even though I am (nb butch) lesbian. For me, some of it is probably the emphasis on femininity. "Will no one think of the butches, the studs, the mascs, the nbs?", I have wondered. And yes, I know the orange striple is supposed to, yet for whatever reason it doesn't have that association for me, personally. But oh, this wlw coat of arms, it makes my heart sing. The moons, the warrior-4-warrior Valkyries, the axes, the shield. The incorporation of the lesbian AND the bi colors, drawing on the long, LONG history of our communities being forever intertwined. Athena's owl of wisdom, flying fiercely. The iconic, timeless Sappho quote, at once forever poetic & strong AND somehow also resonant with the current "useless lesbian" meme. So many layers of meaning. And so, finally, my wishes were answered: someone HAS thought of the butches. Luke has thought of us! (Maybe others won't feel the same, and maybe this isn't wasn't even part of the intent of the pin. But it's resonated with me and made me feel represented in a way I'm not sure any other lesbian/women-loving-women pride pin ever has.) As for the nb pin... it's hard to even put into words. My relationship to gender is,,,,,,, shall we perhaps say: "complex"? Yet, the explanation of how you chose "valeo" and its meaning of "whole" and "strong", combined with the "plainly" part of the quote, really reminded me of the nb character Haruka Tenou from Sailor Moon. Haruka's statement of "I can only live in this manner", has stayed with me and kept me going for decades now. This pin resonates with that same unapologetic energy (to me at least). The phoenix, a creature assigned differing genders depending on time, place, and culture, rising out of the flames anew regardless of what others think. Saturn, inexorable, shifting infintesimally yet profoundly, not easy to love like the Moon, yet powerful beyond measure. The multiple keys, to open and close (metaphorical) doors as needed. Anyway, all of this long rambling post is to try and convey my thanks, appreciation, and understanding of how intricate these pins are, and full of care, protection, and love. I hope this campaign continues to bring in new backers and quickly unlocks the remaining pins! For all the reasons I talked about before, I am not going to get the last stretch goal lesbian pin, but I know that so many others WILL want it. This is my attempt at helping it happen! **** TO BE CLEAR, I am discussing my own life and the historical occurrences in it (wow it's weird to say but that's literally what it is, soooo). The progress pride flag version plays such an important role today and IMO has become a de-facto contemporary resistance symbol.

I really love the mlm design and this probably feels nitpicky or something but could we go from green to white or light blue for the text at the base? The previous one is on my pin board and I feel like the text just gets muted entirely when the main colors are green and blue. The yellow works with the trans masc pin, which I also have but the yellow isn't surrounded by *more* yellow like the green mlm is surrounded by green. maybe even just a white outline for the green text?
