Project Update: International Shipping Rates
Hey folks,
Sorry about the scare with international shipping rates. We usually ship through Shopify as it gets us the best rates, but this time it did not. However, I may have found a different solution with Easyship which is getting us much better rates via FedEx. Naturally, they'll still be higher than domestic shipping would be, but at the very least it won't be in the high tier.
I'm going to see if I can adjust it all in the Pledge Manager first. If I can't do that, I'll offer discounts after the fact. Do keep in mind that due to the ongoing foreign trade issues, rates have been going up quite a bit for all international shipping companies. Plus, shipping costs include the cost of handling/supplies, etc. Regardless, I will do my best to get a better rate for you all.

Project Update: Pledge Manager is Live
Hey everyone!
Just letting you know that the Pledge Manager is now live as we're nearly done with the PDF.
Here's what happens now:
Just letting you know that the Pledge Manager is now live as we're nearly done with the PDF.
Here's what happens now:
- We'll send a smoketest first, where 10% of you will receive the Pledge Manager link.
- We'll make sure everything is in good shape with the smoke test.
- Once everything is solid, we'll send the links to the rest of you.
- The Pledge Manager will charge shipping and let you add on any other items you want to pick up. It will also make items available for pre-order.
- We'll lock orders, addresses, and charge cards approximately two weeks after the Pledge Manager goes live.
- After cards are charged, we will release a "first pass" PDF so you can examine the content. If you see any mistakes, we'll fix them before we do a "final pass."
- About 2-3 weeks after the first PDF is released, we'll do a final pass and then send it to the printer (dice are already in stock, so we just have to wait for the book to print).
I don't want to put a hard date on anything just yet as the trade war this year (and still going on) has made things a mixed bag. But we are more or less in the end game now. At this point, it's just waiting for it to print, ship, and arrive.

Project Update: Small April Update
Hey friends,
Just a quick update for you all.
Just a quick update for you all.
- Pendants and dice are already in the country
- The book is drafted, the design is approved, and it's been proofed... now we're just assembling it
With the new tariff scare, we're not sure where we'll be printing it, so we're keeping an eye on that. Once the final PDF form is ready, we'll have more information for you.
We're targeting end of summer for physical rewards, so be ready for Backerkit to open probably in June or so. I don't want to quote shipping on anything until we see how the trade wars play out. In the meantime, we'll be dropping the digital goods pretty soon, hopefully sometime in early May depending on art turnaround.
Either way, everything is good and ready to go!

Project Update: PDFs coming... soonish?

Just a quick update for March.
Everything is ordered and on the way except for the main book, which we're still finishing up the PDFs for. They're drafted, they're just waiting on me (Dave) to get them cleaned up and organized. From there, the Mage Armoire team will do a final pass. We will likely do an "alpha PDF" once that's done to see what you all think and to see whether or not we need to fix any mistakes.
No ETA just yet, but soonish.
Once that's all done, we'll open the Pledge Manager and start getting your information for shipping.

Project Update: China is back and the draft is complete!
Hey friends,
Quickie update with everything that's going on:

- Pendants are ordered. We ordered a few extra than what's needed, so for those of you looking to get one (or extra), we'll have a few more available when the Pledge Manager opens.
- Dice are ordered. The company making them just got back in, and they should start the process of shipping them soon.
- The draft for the book is completed. I will be reviewing it for its "5e-ness", making edits, and formatting it. A few extra pieces of art might be needed, but otherwise, it's mostly done. I will probably work on this once I get back from the GAMA trade expo the last month. Once it's released we'll do an "alpha" release to catch any typos or answer any questions about it. And then follow it up with a "full" release.
- Although it's hard to know what will happen during all the trade kerfuffles coming up, I expect we'll probably place an order for the book sometime in March or April once the PDF is out.
- You can expect the Pledge Manager to open up probably in March at some time, if not sooner. I'd like to open the PM and give you the PDF right away, so that's all that's really holding that up. That way you'll get charged for shipping/add-ons around the same time we're receiving the goods.
