Project FAQ
Shipping costs start at $6 for a book in the US, and international starts at $12. Everything is calculated by weight and will be invoiced post-campaign. VAT and local fees for international packages are not included. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like a shipping quote.
Back this campaign and A Year of Broken River Zines campaign before both campaigns end to qualify for our special cross-collab bookmark incentives. Note: group/cross-collab incentives will be offered only during live campaigns (not to pre-order store orders).
While the book is still in the creation phase, that is scheduled to be complete in November for editing and layout, and then after the final proofing process, the books will be printed and estimated to ship out to backers by March 2027. If anything shifts in the timeline, I'll post an update! :)
The PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) is an European Union law (that took affect on August 12, 2026). It applies to any small business that ships physical products to customers inside the EU, meaning US e-commerce shops must follow strict rules on box sizes, materials, and waste tracking. There is no exemption for small businesses/microbusinesses or single e-commerce sellers. While I do my best to use compostable, recycled, or re-use materials in my packaging across ventures, I am unable to run through the bureaucratic hoops and costs associated with meeting these new requirements. So, until there is a refined guidance or an exception made for sole proprietor businesses, I can only say for this campaign: I'm sorry to the wonderful people who have supported my business and my campaigns from the EU. (I don't have the resources to investigate using an EU fulfillment option at the moment, but it is something I will look into.)
Because campaign funds go directly into producing the books and merchandise, we’re not able to offer refunds. That said, if there are any issues with your rewards once they arrive, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’ll be happy to help make things right. Thank you so much for your support!
All of our print anthologies are rated PG-13, which means they may contain mild violence, language, dark or sexual themes, and suggested nudity. LGBTQ+ content is welcome and may be present in any of our zines.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
