I'm Leia, Dog Mom and children's book author. It's my pleasure to introduce you to a few members of the Odd Dog Squad. Odd and his friend Waylon first made their appearance in The Odd Dog, a children's book about a quirky rescue learning to live with a family for the first time.
Odd, Waylon, and I dream of every dog getting a home, and your pledge to our campaign helps make that dream a reality!

Between us, crowdfunding is SUPER stressful, but here are three reasons I love doing campaigns:
1) Crowdfunding allows me to offer unforgettable rewards that wouldn't be available with traditional production. The Odd Dog book includes more than forty real dogs illustrated into its pages. Providing backers with something so unique is an amazing experience. I can point to every single dog and talk about why they're drawn the way they are and what makes them special. It's a gift to tell those stories and a pleasure to provide such a unique opportunity.
2) Crowdfunding lets people tell me what they want. I'm proud to say I had a failed Kickstarter campaign back in the day. Why am I proud? It helped me realize that that there wasn't enough interest to publish that book. The passion and interest in Odd Dog has been better than I could've expected, and it's allowed me to make tweaks and adjustments thanks to feedback from amazing backers like you!
3) Crowdfunding makes projects BETTER. By supporting a project during the planning stage, your input and buy-in helps creators like me upgrade projects, making them more deluxe and special. In a world of POD and AI, what distinguishes great art is creativity in the execution of products. By supporting crowdfunded projects, you make that possible.
If you're new to crowdfunding, here's a few things you should know: 1) You will not be charged during the campaign. This campaign is "all or nothing" which means that, if I don't meet my goal, you are not charged anything. Once the goal is met, you are not charged until the campaign is over.
2) You can change or upgrade your pledge any time. Over the course of the campaign, I might unlock some cool upgrades that you must have. If that happens, you are always welcome to increase or decrease your pledge during the campaign. You'll even have time after the campaign to make changes while our products are in production. I will do my best to let you know when windows are closing so you're prepared.
NOTE: Shipping is not part of the cost and will be paid later, roughly 3-4 weeks are the campaign has ended.
3) Pledging early is always best. When you pledge early, it qualifies you for tons of freebies and upgrades we'll be offering over the course of the campaign.

The Odd Dog enamel pins were designed by Therena Carlin, a veteran pin designer I discovered during her Derpy Dragon campaign. Therena is an artist, author, and photography from Canada who is currently running her own Pintopia campaign, Bookish Derpy Dragons. Leia Barrett is a former nonprofit leader turned children's book author. She is an unashamed dog mom and is passionate about fundraising and advocating through her imprint, Stories by Leia. She lives in Kansas City with her husband Drew and her OG Odd Dog, Layla.
IMPORTANT INFO - Shipping costs will be charged to you AFTER the campaign and SEPARATELY through your BackerKit survey.
Below is a graphic with the shipping rates for different regions. These flat rates apply only to your pledge level, and are subject to changes depending upon shipping rates when the campaign ends. If there is a shipping increase it will only be between $1-$2.
Add On Item Shipping Fees - You will have the opportunity to add on extra items in your post campaign survey. Add on items may come with additional shipping costs depending on the final weight of your order.
All orders are shipped through USPS and come with tracking. International backers are responsible for their own countries VAT or import taxes/fees.
When shipping internationally we will make every effort to properly fill out customs forms. We will abide by your countries customs and shipping laws, which means we will denote the package value as the cost of your order, and mark this as merchandise. Please do not ask us to change the value of your package, or mark it as a gift. We are not responsible if your country holds your package and requires extra payment to release it.
Below you can find the campaign and fulfillment timeline. Please note that timelines are not set in stone and are subject to change, due to unforeseen circumstances or delays. January 23th - Campaign Starts February 13th- Campaign Ends and backers are charged March 7-10th - BackerKit surveys sent out April 1st- BackerKit surveys locked down and charged for shipping costs April 15 - Final quantities and drafts are sent to the manufacturer 6-10 Weeks - Pin and merchandise manufacturing period June 2025 - Fulfillment and shipping begins.
Please note that we expect shipping to begin in mid-June 2025 but this does not mean you will receive your package immediately after shipping begins. Depending upon the total amount of backers, shipping carriers, and available staff, the fulfillment period can last anywhere from one month to six months (it averages between 1-3 months). We make every attempt to ship out your packages asap. We'll do our best to keep you apprised of any updates to shipping as we receive them.
