Project Update: Pins have arrived - VERY IMPORTANT, RESPONSE NEEDED
So...
The pins were all made wrong.
Months of negotiating, me providing images and videos to show what I meant via pins I already own (and have made) with epoxy on top, and they were still mass produced without an epoxy layer on top despite extensive sampling. And I, we, did pay extra for that, too.
In lukewarm news, they will remake some of each design.
If the way they are now is an issue for you, AND you are wanting remakes, please vote in the poll linked below for backers only. Names are required, so if you use the one on your account, I will know who you are. This means we don't have to contact each other directly and streamlines things.
If you want partial refunds or exchanges for something else, please email me at [email protected].
There is no reason to reach out if you are okay with the way these pins were made.
If I don't hear back by October 10th via email or poll, I am going to have to assume that it is not a problem for you, and send your package out. It's been so - inexcusably, now - long since this started, I really want y'all to get your orders but I want you to be happy with them too.
This is 17 designs on one mold, it did understandably cause some headache but for this final step to be completely forgotten is just excessive. However, since I have another order that was already agreed upon... they are willing to remake some jellinoms alongside the Pintober production... which unfortunately means fulfillment in December or January.
In some good news, the regular translucent jellos all look good.
They felt larger than expected, however, and I checked...they're about 37mm. I had wanted these to be noticeably smaller than the previous jellinom and flanom pins, but still larger than these gacha guys - somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately that is not the case, they are hefty, and some of that is my fault because I didn't notice their proof incorrectly said 35mm (which this still is not) instead of my requested and quoted-for 32mm.
Though I did measure printed-out samples beforehand, I should've shot for even smaller just in case, as the 5mm increase in height made the size overall much larger and heavier as both dimensions increased proportionately... this has happened to me before with multiple manufacturers. So if these jellos are popular, I may get them remade smaller someday.
Really, these pins are overall great quality as usual, just like the fish and moths...they just are not whatsoever finished in the way that was communicated. Over months. Extensively. And I cannot add epoxy to 850+ pins by myself. I did skim over over a sizeable portion already and if I were to judge based on quality, majority of these are A grade pins (not just standards), the larger jellos included. They are made very well.
I still really feel like I let you down. I promise I was very, very thorough about the epoxy, I even commissioned those 3D models too in order to make the communication even clearer, and I thought it had all been properly passed on from my CS rep to the factory floor. However, I've now been told he was on a business trip during the final stretch of production and did not see them before they went out.
I am so sorry. This took so much time and patience from all involved and my rep is very sorry as well.
I will start fulfillment after the waiting period, October 10th (which is also launch date for Pintober unfortunately), unless you tell me sooner that you're okay with them as-is and want me to go ahead with yours.
I am still not worried about the Pintober moths because they have effectively been made before.
Thank you
Elena
