Project Update: Poster Map Added. Let’s Talk Arcists—and Medallions!

Greetings, vislae—

Once again you have amazed us with your alacrity! You have reached so many trapped vislae in the past day that we have unlocked another stretch goal. We are now adding a poster map to Invisible Sun: Indigo, showing off the beautiful city of Satyrine. We’ve updated the mockup of the game to include it:

Additionally, we’ve added a free bonus to the rewards for every backer: a beautiful reference bookmark for The Threshold. Remember: every time we unlock a stretch goal, every backer gets one of these bonus rewards as well!

We have an exciting new stretch goal for you, but first:

Join Monte and Sean Tonight!

The weekly Cypher Unlimited livestream will host Monte and fellow MCG designer Sean tonight! They’ll be talking about Invisible Sun, The Electric Sun, their own Invisible Sun campaigns and characters, and more—and taking your questions. Tune in to Cypher Unlimited tonight at 10:00 p.m. EDT (7:00 p.m. PDT)!

And don’t forget you can enter to win a seat at Sean’s virtual game table. He’ll be running a one-shot Invisible Sun adventure, and you could be one of his players! Take part in our Gleam raffle for a chance to win.

A New Order: The Arcists

One of our earliest stretch goals in this campaign expanded The Electric Sun to include a new, playable order of vislae. Vislae of that order call themselves Arcists.

Arcists create and utilize the power of magical devices. To the uninitiated, these might appear to be electrical machines, but they are much more than that. Infused with a type of magic specific to the order, these devices perform functions no normal machine could. Arcists create surreal, seemingly impossible electrical weapons, conveyances, tools, and much more. They can even create electrical people. Further, they can utilize powers to modify, and enhance, the devices on the fly.

A Medallion for the Arcists—and All of the Orders

As part of the crowdfunding campaign that funded the original Invisible Sun Black Cube, we offered a set of medallions representing the five vislae orders. (Four orders, really—makers, weavers, vances, and goetics—plus apostates.) These medallions are no longer available—they long ago sold out. But there are now six vislae orders (five, plus apostates). So let’s make a medallion for this new order! When we reach 1763 backers, we’ll reissue the Order Medallion Set, including a sixth medallion for the Arcists. Backers at THE BREADTH OF THE ACTUALITY (PRINT AND PDF) will get the new medallion added to their rewards automagically, and the complete set will be available as an add-on, offered at a special, backer-only price.

Here’s a look at the original set, along with a preliminary design for the Arcist order symbol.

And while we’re at it, as we do with every stretch goal, we’ll add a bonus reward for every backer: a reference bookmark for The Wellspring.

The Wellspring
details locations, NPCs, creatures, and organizations from across Satyrine and the Actuality, each with interesting props and handouts to help create the full immersion for which Invisible Sun is legendary. It includes dozens of supporting props, a slipcase, spell cards, and more—all created to help you launch your Invisible Sun narrative.

A Wicked Key Showdown

Throughout this campaign you’ve helped us choose the designs for new wicked keys. A set of nine of these very cool metal keys are among the many rewards at THE BREADTH OF THE ACTUALITY pledge level. The set is also available as an add-on. These are the five designs you’ve chosen:
Illustrations of five wicked key designs, with themes of a spider, a candle with wings, a broken skull, a flowing tangle, and the sun and moon.

Some of the polls were very close, though! Let’s find out which of the unselected keys you like best. We’ve launched another poll in the comments with designs that, while garnering a lot of votes, just barely didn't make it. The set will probably not contain more than five unique designs (the original set had only four), but your vote will give us a backup design or an extra choice should we go with six or more designs.

Thank you for your support, and for helping us reach new vislae and unlock so many stretch goals!
