I don't mean the PT Barnum kind of sucker, no, I mean the specific kind of sucker that has a visceral need for capital-S Space, divided up into an even tessellation of hexagons. It's just so satisfying, right? How those voids of Space nest so perfectly into the voids of space within your soul and infuse you with dark matter, dust, and an existentially satisfying sense of infinity. At least, that's my experience. YMMV. But if you've clicked on a link to get here, we just might have a little something in common.
F#$% I am a Sucker for Hexagons in Space! Is a solo journaling RPG that indulges your lust for space and takes you on a trip through the cosmos.
Inspired by Becky Chambers’ Wayfarers series, the TV show Firefly, and a stray group chat reference to Twilight Imperium; FSHS offers a guided experience about leaving home, exploring, and examining the change you bring to places you visit. To do this you'll sketch out different possibilities in front of you, (i.e. your ship's scanner) and make choices about what to experience next! Log your experiences, and visualize the difference between what your scanner saw, and the effect you have had on this place in your visit.
You'll need a notebook, writing implements, and two 12-sided dice.
The goal of this campaign is to make printed copies of the 'zine. To that end, we've set a modest goal because we don't need to order thousands to get them at a workable cost.
And it wasn’t really a stretch goal, because this campaign isn’t doing that, but now there are stickers that I digitally painted that come with every print copy of the zine.
Sticker Art
And as of this update, we’re just about at 6x funding at which point I’ll start teasing the submission I’m making for the zinetopia collective promo (hint: it’s another game)
In good news, we ship zines like this a lot these days. It costs about $5 to mail one of these within the US. Happy to do that. We’ll collect that after the campaign.
As for shipping internationally? I don't recommend it. At a glance it looks nonsensically expensive; like, more than the cost of the book expensive. So unless you're buying a ton (in which case, contact us about a secret retailer discount tier), please don't. We support you buying digital and printing your own copy.
As for fulfillment, we're setting April 1 as the conservative delivery date. Which is to say, the book is written and still needs a playtesting pass or three, some editing, and a little bit of fixer-upper layout work. It probably won't take that long. Probably.
I'm proud to say that I've delivered every project I've run and funded (seven so far), and helped other people get to the finish line too.
