Gosh I super-appreciate y'all who have backed at the play tester level! (and everyone else too, don't get me wrong, but they're doing a bang-up job of making sure I'm delivering the best-possible version of the game I promised).
I had taken a small piece of writing about making a hex map out of the preview and playtest PDFs of the game, since it hadn't been especially well-developed or wondered if it wouldn't work too well... And it seems that was a mistake. Most all the feedback after one week makes mention of this aspect. So, that's definitely going to go back in and will get further developed, along with some new ideas I've had for how wormholes ought to work.
I'm going to try and put together a quick manuscript preview of my ideas around the hex map rules this week and will add those to the playtest documents for y'all at the playtester level to check out.
At the 600% milestone I also promised a sneak tease of the page I'm making for the big collaborative zine we're all doing for ZineTopia.

It's a solitaire card game that I've had around for a while, but didn't otherwise have a home. It's not extra content for *this* game, but there's a ton of interesting little things folks have put together for their own games and lots of stuff that's readily transportable to any other game!
In a bit of bad news, the stickers I ordered seem to have gotten porch-pirated. I won't have trouble replacing them, but hopefully I can get some credit back from shipping insurance or whatever.
We've got ten days to go, and I'm looking forward to these next steps to bring you this game!
Playtesters! Thank you so much for jumping into participate in the final developmental stages of this game. I'm so grateful that you're doing this, and I hope you have a great time with it.
To start, the playtest edition ruleset should be in your digital rewards as an immediate access reward. If you are backing at that level and have not gotten this, please let me know ASAP! It'll be very tricky to playtest without them.
There is no duration requirement for how long you play. My demo journals have been three entries worth, and ideally I'd love to get your takes on a journey of at least six entries. If longer feels good, go for it. And if it crashed out for you before then, I *definitely* want to hear about your experience with that.
Leave your questions, survey comments, etc. here. If there's anything you want to ask or comment on more privately, let me know and I'll reach out via a direct channel.
Thanks again for being part of this experiment!
1. How many journal entries did you make before writing this particular piece of feedback? (Counting multiple games is totally okay, I'd like to know how much you have played in total for your comment here; it's less important to me how long a particular journey ended up). An exact number isn't important, but roughly (<=6) (7-11) (12+)
2. What did the title, tagline, and conceit of the game sugggest to you as compared to your experience?
3. What in the text stands out to you, in terms of creating fictional support for your imagination and narrative?
4. What mechanics did you find yourself with strong opinions about, in terms of creating interesting effects on your narrative?
5. Which SPACE LUST did you play?
6. Did you ever feel inclined to ignore the dice, or more specifically: a result, at any point? What was that context? What did you do instead? And if you chose to ignore, how did that affect your experience of the game?
7. What, if anything, would you add to the book to make it more perfect for those who are Suckers for Hexagons in Space?
This campaign has already achieved so much more than I expected. Thank you thank you. It’s inspirational and I’ve spent a night and the next morning making more art about it.
I’ve made the poll results from the last update visible and they’re pretty decisive. A little bonus thing is worthwhile and it also shouldn’t interfere with shipping. So, I am making some stickers! These are digitally painted by me and will be printed by Stickerapp.
Sticker art
All zine backers are now getting a sticker included and if you want extras, they’re now available as an add-on.
PDF backers can also celebrate, you should immediately have access to some phone wallpapers featuring this artwork in with your digital rewards!
I’ve also pushed the preview edition PDF to playtest backers and will be posting the survey questions shortly. If you were an pre-launch follower, you probably have access to the preview edition. You can feel free to comment on the survey update or ask related questions, but the playtester tier will have a slightly updated copy of the text with some small but important changes.
We're less than $150 from 600%, which is just amazing. And at $3000, I'll tease the zinetopia community drop that I'm contributing to the collective zine.
Well, that didn't take long. Two days in and we're massively funded beyond my hopes. I am fairly agog at the support being expressed for this game.
I've been editing the game today, doing some balancing work between different stats and a few small re-writes based on some previous playtesting. And I've been thinking about the extra thank-you gifts I'd like to make. There will definitely be some stickers. They're easy to make and ship, and they'll be a nice additional little project.
I'm so grateful. And looking forward to all of the next. More soon!
Looks like I got the funded-notice after a little over three hours, and since then we're nearly half-again as much too. I haven't particularly planned for stretch goal space -- it seems a little off-scope, but then again, also like a nice idea. So, I've put up a poll!
I'm going to be working on the playtest survey this week and will aim to have that done next Monday (the 9th), and give anyone who wants to provide some feedback about two weeks for that (so, ending 2/23) which is about 4 days before the campaign closes.
Again, I'm so excited that you're all here for this game. I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you all.
