The campaign is a’wrapped! A MASSIVE thank you to you, the backers and everyone who made the campaign happen. We are humbled and beyond grateful for everything.
An IMPORTANT REMINDER. We'll be charging shipping closer to fulfillment to reflect current rate, so be aware and look for that as the work continues.
The current estimate to be all done and good in the beginning of 2026.
Here's what we're cookin with:
Now
Finish Production! We're about 40% of the way through production of the zones themselves, and need a few months to bring together art, layout, editing, and the lot. This timeline is three months from the start of the campaign.
August 2025
Go to Print!! Our quotes from printers still may change slightly based on the final specifications, so we need to anticipate that. Printing is a six-week process, but with that we can move on to:
September 2025
Ocean Freight! From the print of the books we then ship them out to our warehouses in the USA, UK, & Germany. Best scenario this takes about a month but in the past (and with the ongoing unpredictability) it has taken as much a three months. Overall, this is the step that's hardest to predict (and control)!
October-November 2025
Fulfillment! From our warehouses to trucks to warehouses in your friendly neighboring locals, then out to you, the Backers!
That brings us squarely to the end of the year. Because of the nature of the holidays, we're adding an extra grace period to account for any delays and surge charges for shipping. Based on past experiences, that realistically brings us to January-February 2026 as a ship out date. We may ship earlier and there may be a chance we ship later - but this is a wide estimate so we're trying to end up earlier than later.
What Else?
The Mythworks Team has returned from Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio! Boothing was had, games were run, and memories were made.
All manner of different Mythworks games were available for the curious or already initiated to laugh, cry, and explore with us. I was lucky enough to run Slugblaster! (kickflip over a quantum centipede) with an absolutely wonderful group. The teenage crew, known as Roach’s Love Bugs, sported a sweet multicolored ladybug as a logo.
We had “Dude” (the chill) who ended up in quantum flux coasting on an infinite girder (and thought to be lost forever). Roach herself with her gravity blaster and supportive mother. The affable Slugo had to always match his shoes with whatever his drink was. Lil Banksy had just learned what “avant-garde” meant and endeavored to incorporate it into every aspect of his life! And, certainly not to be forgotten, the effervescent enby Fireball came in with plenty of ADHD and heart :)
The Love Bugs’ cruised radly through an interdimensional Technicolor Acid Swamp (though Roach crashed along the way into an underground gated community of little blue nebulae nuclear families and got saddled with a giant “MORTGAGE” sticker on her board). Their most emotional loss, however, came as Slugo’s specially and specifically mixed drink was flattened.
But fortune struck in the heart of the jungle as they found the trees growing drinks and cups from their branches and the Love Bugs’ quickly helped themselves.
…Only to be interrupted by a thin, alien-looking man with a rainbow swoop of hair and a brightly-colored geometric jacket who descended from the tree.
In my head, he looked a bit like this:
He introduced himself as Roy G. Biz and demanded they justify taking from him without asking. They apologized and began to explain everything about Slugblaster to Roy G. Biz: Slugtube, Subscribers, Likes, Comments, Livefeeds, all of which was completely unknown to him. When the Love Bugs' asked if he wanted to be their Sponsor, his eyes lit up and he agreed, if they would find the other group of impertinent children and “fizz them”. Not really understanding, but wanting a sponsor, the Love Bugs’ agreed.
“...did we just make a deal with the devil?”
Our heroes found the Slimeballz Crew (composed of Barry, Spider-Head, Courtney, Killer Carrie, and Bobby [who’s a pretty nice guy actually, not sure why he hangs out with them]) smoking and drinking and breaking bottles in an industrial wasteland. The crews exchange barbs and then they FIZZ those FOOLS. Each fizzing is accompanied by a to-camera ad read of “Roy G. Biz’ Fantastic Fizz! The Finest Fizz That Gots All Tha Rizz!” Each declaration caused the multicolored acid forest to grow and overtake much of the industrial wastes.
But the crews were interrupted by the HOUSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION BLUE NEBULAE COPS and spun around in their hovercopcar and began snatching up slugblasters left and right. The Love Bugs' spotted the portaling singularity anchored to the bumper of the hovercopcar. Through speed and guile, our heroes SLIIDE into the unstable portal home, to spend their Trouble and Style points on the beginning of their storied Narrative Arches.
It was a great session. The players were hugging and high-fiving as they walked away. One of them said to another,
“I swear sometimes these games are magic. And this was one of those times.”
Thank you so, so much. This campaign far exceeded any of our expectations. Y'all are amazing. I'm in Columbus right now preparing for Origins. If you're in town, please do stop by and say hello.
Otherwise, we'll update again soon (though less frequent than when the project was live) as we make our way through production and hopefully print. Our goal internally is to have a big debut at PAX Unplugged this year, so fingers crossed we can do it if we put our backs into it!
Well, there’s one week left in the campaign and we have over 1000 backers and that floors me. Thanks to everyone who has backed, and everyone who has spread the hype. Slugblaster is powered by your vibes. Please enjoy this screenshot I took while setting up the document and planning out layout for WARP, and a sketch from SEXONAPIZZA ripped fresh from the sketchbook today.
A fun stage, where I copy-paste stuff onto pages so I can squint and see how the book will look.
Early sketch of a character weirlding the all-powerful Miper Phone!
COMIC CON
I’m going to San Diego Comic Con!
If you want to say hi, I'll be signing books at the Mythworks booth on July 25, 2pm.
OR you can find me watching the ON-STAGE SLUGBLASTER SHOW the same day between 4-6pm. I’ll share details as I get them, but it's rumored to have an all-star cast (acclaimed film director, famous comic book writer, hasbro big-wig??) and it sounds like it’s going to be incredible.
Fear not, it will be filmed!

PATREON
I'm new to Patreon but having a blast figuring it out. I share regular lab-reports about what I've been working on, as well as other fun stuff like tours of the Slugblaster Museum (aka the depths of my old project files). Here's a sample of the kind of stuff I'm doing. If you’re weird like that, I’d love your loonies.
The character artist for the original book would ask for notes on her early sketches. Check out the whole process on my patreon "museum" post.

Speaking of our Community! We announced a couple of community contests that are currently ongoing! Here's a look into them!
Then a look at one made by Taro, a member of our Discord Communities (link to those at the bottom!)
And finally a peek at a slug made by Mythworks' Play and Culture Lead, Graham Gentz! Graham Truly Explored the Limits of Slugliness!
CAN YOU OUT DO HIM
Remember! you don't have to use our suggested image, but it does make things simpler, which helps, especially if you're planning on making something Wild and Free like Graham's.
You can post them in our Official Mythworks Discord Here, the Slugblaster Discord, or submit them to the Discussion posted on Backerkit. (linked in the section heading.)
If you follow us on Backerkit you may have recently received an email informing you that Mythworks backed Monte Cook Games' project "Invisible Sun: Electric and Indigo" a reimagining of the presentation for the incredible "Invisible Sun"
Given our Commitment to Design and Beauty, you can see why we support our friends on their campaign!
If you click over to their project, with just under 10 hours to go it'd be wonderful to see our friends get a final push for an Incredible Project!
Fun Fact, Kate Evans, MCG Marketing Manager, revealed in our Slime, Warp, Solder Community space that she's in a regular Slugblaster Campaign!
Hi, Kate :]
Pandion Games, known for titles like "The Substratum Protocol" and "Badger + Coyote" (I have a special fondness for games specifically designed for 2 players.), is now taking Pre-Orders and Late Backing for their newest project "Midnight Muscadines"!
In "Midnight Muscadines" player characters are Marmateers, gatherers, preservationists, explorers, spellcasters, and most importantly Jam Makers. Producing Jams from the last source of Magic: Midnight Muscadines!
It is designed for Solo, Duet (As You know I Love a 2 player game), and larger groups too, rules for play with or without GM are also built right in!
And of course, the book is gorgeous! We love to support and further the inundation of Beautifully Designed Landscape Format TTRPG Books!
René-Pier Deshaies-Gélinas, Fari RPGs gave the team quite high praise!
(Watch out for some cool upcoming announcements regarding René-Pier and Mythworks [and it's not even the awesome CBR+PNK info you may already know You Mythworks Superfan, You])
Origins Game Fair runs from June 18th to June 22nd in Columbus Ohio and Mythworks will be there in force! We'll have Ray, Graham, and myself as well as a coterie of supporters stepping up to work the booth and run scheduled games to make the event incredible for everyone! I thrifted Sick Slugblaster Drip Specially for it!
Stop by, say hi and check out our Booth 1653! I'll personally be at the booth as often as possible because I love meeting all of y'all and spreading The Good News of Mythworks' Wonders! (though I'm sure that Graham has scheduled breaks for my "health" or whatever.) And stop off at nearby Starlight Grove 1646 to support more Dear Friends of Mythworks- (Ryan Khan and) Julien Legault. Though, only Julien will be able to attend.
The Picture that Julien sent me after They picked Their booth location.
Or maybe you're more interested in playing games! There are still a few spots left for our scheduled games of "Pico: Tiny Bugs, Big World" and "Under the Autumn Strangely" made by Graham Gentz featured in our 'Mythworks Presents Line'.
Last month, while at ACD Expo in Madison Wisconsin, Mr. Fishy (Caleb) and I ran demo sessions of The Wildsea and Slugblaster for retailers to give them a feel for the game and how best to sell it within their stores! Games were 20-30 minutes, so after we ran through a quick character creation I revealed to them that they're in the middle of cutting a tape for "Interdimensional Funniest Home Videos" (Still hosted by Tom Bergeron, ofc)
Of course, IDFHV has some ground rules to prevent things from getting too wonky too fast. Prime among them being
Scary isn't funny. Getting hurt isn't funny. Getting hurt is Scary. Surprise can be funny, but remember, Scary isn't funny!
Our Crews "Hawt Weelz" "MamaZ BoiZ" and "Rhein Stoned Kow Boiz" each had wildly different approaches!
Do you think IDFHV has any other rules they impose on submissions, post your thoughts or suggestions below!
Also Important: What Would Your Crew do - share below!
Regarding directly collaborating with Retailers
Following a request from Walter Julias of "The Midnight Tavern" in Sayville NY we added a Retail Support tier specifically for Slime Warp and Solder! The tier is 1$ and will allow us to confirm specifics on the Backerkit Survey.
Given that we're expanding into more and more stores through increased distribution and more direct to retailer sales, we'd love to see Mythworks' Wonders in your local stores! If you see any of our delights while visiting a local store, please take a pic and share it with us here or on social media! We Love to see it! (and it's valuable data that can help us better understand our current carrying map)
Alternatively, if your Friendly Local Game Store doesn't carry Mythworks wonders and you want them to, please give them my email [email protected] and I'll help figure out something that works for them!
Once again, thank you so much for your support and community!
This is my first weekly project update on behalf of Mythworks and it is only because a community like You allows Mythworks to Grow! I can hardly wait to see what We do next thanks to You.
Please tell your friends, word of mouth is our favourite! Better yet! Go Play our Games!
