The Print
These things are gorgeous. They may have the spirit of a DIY xerox-buster, but we plan to produce these beauties at the highest level, using a spot color process that creates dazzling, vivid colors that standard CMYK printing just can't. We want this to be a product you treasure.
Slugblaster is a table-top roleplaying game first published in 2023 by its creator, Mikey Hamm, then again in 2024 by Mythworks after winning the Indie Groundbreaker Game of the Year Award.
Slugblaster has an active community content scene and a vibrant fanbase that's only grown bigger after being named "Game of Season 1" on Quinns Quest.
Premise
In the small town of Hillview, teenage hoverboarders sneak into other dimensions to explore, film tricks, go viral, and get away from the problems at home. It’s dangerous. It’s stupid. It’s got parent groups in a panic. And it’s the coolest thing ever.
Who Will You Be? A sassy rich kid with a pair of modified time-skipping Scram Cat® sneakers? A chill loser with a lovable robot sidekick? An ultra-dimensional princess with a hoverboard made from pure light?
What Will You Do? Will you blow off school and sesh the abandoned mall in Vastiche? Get the Miper sponsorship by speed-running Prismatia? Salvage power crystals from the mossy decommissioned gundam in The Golden Jungle? Sneak into the hottest party in Operaeblum?
But be careful! Make sure you get home before the demiplane melts, or the bloodwhip swarm sucks your marrow out, or your mom finds out where you've been and sends you away to a camp for troubled youths.
Gameplay
Slugblaster uses a stripped-down Forged in the Dark system, lovingly designed to support:
Collaborative, player-driven sandbox campaigns and free-form cinematic action.
Looking cool and doing tricks! Pop your gum in slow-mo while you do a 1080 over jets of slime.
Gear-hacking and component-collecting.
Fame and popularity! Get fans, earn sponsorships, wear a t-shirt with your face on it.
Narrative downtime arcs, where you buy scene prompts with points you earn during your adventures.
Dramatic, push-your-luck, third-act disasters.
Really dope chases.

We'll be charging shipping closer to fulfillment to reflect current rates.
We estimate to complete the campaign by January of 2026.
Here's our estimated timeline as well as the steps taken along each way:
Finish Production. We're about 40% of the way through production of the actual Zines, and need a few months to wrap things up on both design, art, layout, and editing. We're giving ourselves an addition three months from the start of the campaign to do this. May-July 2025
Go to Print. We have quotes from printers already that may change slightly based on the final specifications, but we'll be ready to go to print fairly soon. Printing is a six week process, but with the Lunar New Year lurking we're going to set a completion date for right after that. August 2025
Ocean Freight. From the print of the books we then ship them out to our warehouses in the USA, UK, & Germany. This usually takes about a month but in the past has taken as long as three months. Overall, this is the step that's hardest to predict timewise. September - October 2025
Fulfillment. From our warehouses we'll send trucks to other warehouses in neighboring countries and then out to you, Backers! October-November 2025
That brings us squarely to the end of the year. Because of the nature of the holidays, we're adding an extra grace period to account for any delays and surge charges for shipping. Based on past experiences, that realistically brings us to January 2026 as a ship out date. We may ship earlier and there may be a chance we ship later - but this is a wide estimate so we're trying to end up earlier than later.
As many of you might know, the tariff situation has already caused this campaign to be delayed and is a constantly evolving situation. We've talked extensively about tariffs and the various contingencies that may occur because of the tariffs, and have accounted for those contingencies in the design of this campaign. Thank you for your continued support during these tumultuous times. We're doing our best as a small independent studio to make great games.
