Hello everyone,

It's time for a big update! A lot has happened since last Friday. I'll summarize it in bullet points and then elaborate on them below. That way, you can read through what applies to you and/or interests you.

First things first: All errors (that I am aware of) have now been fixed - so please go through your survey again and check that all the information is correct. I'm extending the deadline to next Wednesday (March 11, 2026) so that you all have enough time to correct your entries. I'll then lock the orders and place the order with my manufacturer (addresses can still be edited after that step, no worries). 1. Problems opening/completing the Backer Survey.
I heard that some of you had problems opening the Backer Survey. I contacted support and asked for help. This is the response I received:

'If backers are having issues accessing their survey, I recommend having them clear their cache. They can then log in to their BackerKit account to retrieve their survey, or use our survey recovery tool if they do not have an account. If they continue to run into any issues, please have them contact our Backer Support Team from here for further assistance.'

From my own experience, it works better using a desktop version (mobile has issues loading all product pictures). You can also try to use the ‘desktop mode’ on your mobile device if you don't own a computer.

2. The free shipping code for the shop did not work.
This mainly affects backers who live in the USA. Since the shipping situation here is very difficult to assess and sometimes a few extra grams can cost €10-20 more in shipping, the USA is currently excluded from free shipping. I am very sorry about this. I hope that the situation will improve for us by the time of shipping.

3. Fixed add-on Ita Bag Bundles.
Previously, the Ita bundles were only available as EXTRA add-ons (i.e., those that were not already available as add-ons in the campaign) only as a 'pick & mix' version - meaning bases, inserts, fronts, and straps could be combined INDIVIDUALLY to create your own bag. I have now added complete bundles. These come standard with matching plain inserts and (for the fanny pack) with matching logo crossbody straps (the clutch does not have straps).

Please check carefully whether you have selected a whole bundle or just a base. The bases are €10 cheaper than the bundles, so you can easily tell the difference (the clutch base costs €20 (the bundle €30), the fanny pack base €30 (the bundle €40)).

The Ayumi freebie pin for pledging both of my projects does not visually appear in the backer survey. I'll manually add it when shipping the orders <3

I am very sorry that some of you had problems opening or filling out the survey v.v Since the project is very complex and had so many different options, it was not easy to set up the survey and test it in advance for all eventualities. Let me know if you run in any further issues and I'll gladly help!

Thank you for your patience and for supporting my Kawaii Kompanions Backerkit project! With this e-mail you receive personalized access to your backer survey. Please note that you can pick & mix the designs just as you like! You can pick a blue ita base and pick a pink front and a teal insert and a black crossbody strap. It's time for an exciting update: I will send the smoke test to the first backers right after publishing this update!

A smoke test is designed to allow a small number of backers to fill out the backer survey so I can check that everything is working as it should. Once the smoke test has been successfully completed, the surveys will be sent out to ALL backers. Please fill out the survey as soon as possible so that I can order the Ita Bags and extras in time. The soft lock is March 8th, which is next Sunday. On March 9th, I will place the order with my manufacturer.

Everyone will receive their survey email by the end of this week at the latest!

At the end of the survey, you will need to review your payment information to ensure any additionally ordered add-ons can be charged. However, shipping costs will not be charged yet. Since there are so many changes in tariffs at the moment (especially in the US market) and I want to offer you the cheapest shipping price, I will wait until the Itas are on their way to me and I can better estimate the final costs. Until then, you can also freely adjust the shipping address. If you move during this time, you can simply enter your current address there. I will write another update and let you know when I lock the addresses.

I hope you had a good start to the week! Here's a quick update: Please check whether your payments have gone through successfully. I can only ship your rewards if they have been paid for in advance.

If you have problems with your payment method, you can also enter a different card. Backerkit will then try to collect the amount again shortly.

If you don't have another credit card, PayPal offers a free digital credit card. This card will then collect the amounts from your PayPal balance. I've been using mine in my wallet for years and it works great. Friends of mine have also tested it and it works wonderfully on Backerkit. I wanted to let you know just in case you need a plan B.

To ease the financial burden on you a little and to better estimate the shipping costs (maybe we'll be lucky and the US tariffs will ease up by then, haha), the shipping costs will only be due once the rewards are on their way to me. I'll write another update in good time once I have a better idea of the exact timing.
