The Core Rules Book

The core rules come in a slim A5 sized book. A quick read, designed to get you up and playing quickly with little fuss. The rules are immediately familiar to anyone who has ever play D&D 5e, but with some of the best elements from the top TTRPGs of the day.

The rules are MODULAR, and many can be ported right over to D&D and other TTRPGs easily.

It includes variant rules for small groups (1 GM and 1-2 players), as well as very large groups (6-10+ players) that make play smooth and manageable without having to rewrite entire stories or encounters.

The Character Book

The character book has 11 fresh, new, FLAVORFUL (yet familiar) classes, 22+ brand new subclasses and dozens of options to customize and choose your own path as you level up. The book also includes updated Playable Races, Backgrounds, Weapons, Armor,  Adventuring Gear and Tons of SPICY new spells that are designed to create MEMORABLE moments.

The GM Book

The GM book has one goal: to make your life as a GM easier. We all know how annoying +1 magic swords and armor are in 5e. There are secret rules when to give them out (or if you're supposed to at all–I'm looking at you +3 armor!), and all they do is make balancing encounters more difficult for you.

This GM book includes a bunch of great magical items that you'll actually WANT to give out. Things that help you reach into the world and push the story forward, get your players into lots of fun trouble, get you out of trouble, and create memorable moments.

It includes tools to easily dial in the combat encounter difficulty to exactly where you as the GM want it to be, without looking up or memorizing complicated tables or formulas. This is all designed with the GM in mind, for ease of play and eliminating the friction too common in TTRPGs.

A new Solo Legendary monsters systems that is both easy to run and tactically satisfying for players.

An awesome adventure: THE RUINS OF STORMWATCH.

Perfect for new and experienced GMs alike. Taking your players from level 1 to 3 and teaching the rules as you go, naturally and gradually. No need for everyone to read them (unless they want to!). With plenty of adventure hooks and GM tips for first time players and new GMs, and tons of open ended shenanigans for experienced players to get themselves into!

Cross Collaboration

Something New Backerkit is doing is called Cross Collaborations.

Where 2 different campaign can work together and offer special bonuses to people who back both.

Back Nimble 5e and Faerie at any tier, and get an additional class crafted specifically for Nimble 5e from the Faerie sourcebook: The Witch! The Witch is a spellcasting class that brings with it a unique form of spellcasting, using Mystic Marks rather as well as weave sigils into their spells to alter their very nature.

The Witch class also features two subclasses: The Coven of the Hunt, a summon focused subclass, and the Coven of the Hex that can curse their foes, letting the elder magic take root deep within their prey and sicken them beyond recovery.

Shipping

Shipping worldwide is a bit of a nightmare right now, prices are very much out of control. That said, I'm doing what I can to keep the costs as low as possible for everyone. Shipping and taxes will be charged after the campaign finishes but below are our best estimates of the prices to various regions around the world.

US shipping will be relatively affordable $5-$8 assuming prices hold. I'm currently evaluating fulfillment partners for International shipping. The expected weight of the softcover books is 11-12 oz, and the boxed set will be closer to 2-3 lbs which is currently around $10-$20 for the UK and EU. I'll be shipping to other regions as well and I'll be doing what I can to get those prices down if possible, these are only estimates.

Risks & Delivery Schedule

The books are largely finished already! Just like my previous crowdfunded project, the beta digital assets will be delivered in waves immediately after the campaign ends for feedback, wider playtesting and proofreading for roughly 3-4 weeks (or longer if necessary) and then the final digital files will be sent to the printer. From there production & shipping is expected to take up to 12 weeks.

Things can change, but if all goes smoothly an optimistic timeline is deliveries starting by Christmas, but much of that depends on the worldwide shipping situation! A more generous shipping schedule is Spring 2025. Much of the timing is out of my hands but I will be doing what I can to get the rewards into your hands ASAP!
