The work continues, but so does life. I had a death in the family in early June, so I spent a lot of time focused on spending time with my family. I also strained a muscle in either my neck or shoulder on my dominant drawing arm side, so I've been pacing my work to ensure recovery without further injury.
We're still ahead of schedule! The draft for Fortune Favors Dice is pretty much done, and backers can take a peek by opening up the link in the Backer only content section of this update. Next up for the text of this book is editing, and seeing if I can fit even more cool stuff in the book by figuring out what should be trimmed down.
BUT FIRST, I'm switching gears to work on illustrations for the book for now, so stay tuned for a pretty update in July.
The first draft of Fortune Favors Dice is underway! If you backed the project, please check out the "Backer Exclusive Content" section under this update for a link to the pdf draft preview, a simple printable character sheet, and a personal note from myself.
I'll be in Boston this weekend for Pax East! Please feel free to come say hi if you see me at the convention or out and about! I do startle easily, especially if you tap my shoulder and I don't see you at first, so please be considerate of that, but I would love to say hi and thank you to everyone who supported Fortune Favors Dice.
Despite the storms that moved in just before the campaign wrapped up, we had a strong finish to the Fortune Favors Dice campaign - we totaled 76 backers and $2,625 - well over our initial goal. Thank you all so much for your support, whether backing, or sharing the project, you all helped make it happen.
While going over the specifications for designing the character sheet pads, I found out that printing them front and back is an option - something I took for granted as unlikely. With this good news, I reworked my plans for the character sheet pad to include more functionality in a streamlined design.
This character sheet will be so easy to use, especially for spur of the moment games. Simply fill in your characters name, the stats associated with the playset in use, circle the die ratings, and you're good to go! If you want to take a little more time, you can fill in a character bio and doodle a portrait on the back. The notes section can be used for playset specific bonus rules (like Fortune Favors Lasers' ship clocks) or whatever else you might want to keep track of.
