Project Update: The Final Book Shipping Update
The stickers have arrived! That means the last packages are heading out the door!
Electronic Atomic Altar backers - it's coming! The goal is to have it done by October 15th so I can carry some to Gamehole Con, and ship the rest right before or after that.
Here's a video the kid and I made and I don't seem to have shared, us fooling around with the v2 Altar prototype. This is, aside from what it says on the screen, basically the final internals. They will come in plastic project boxes with a power switch and the screen mounted on the outside.
The final product will
- Display random messages for each action (I made like 5 for each aside from detonate).
- Automatically start a 2 minute timer. You can count it down to where you need it before letting the players make their attempts. This was to save extra parts and complexity and from how I wrote the adventure, two minutes is basically the maximum time to defuse.
- Include a tilt sensor - don't try to hit it to break it, that detonates the Altar!
- Have a power switch on the outside for easy on/off operation. Turn on, starts timer...
- Be powered by a 9v battery (not included) for portability.
- Will NOT explode - though I cannot guarantee the 9v battery. ;)
Here's what you can expect to physically get give or take
The covers will have the LCD mounted and the power switch should be on the side. We're going to CNC holes in them as needed.
What I hope is that you all customize your Atomic Altars and send me pictures!
