We've been hard at work here at Parable Games testing and reviewing all the feedback from the quickstart and our community to refine the books and accessories to the best possible version they can be. The Battle Map for Sisterhood is the beating bloody heart of the pulpy, action-packed gameplay, and we've been striving to make sure that this is refined and as clear as possible.
We started with redrawing the designs slightly to make Brawl designated as a singular area, as we know this was a key piece of feedback for clarity when playing and positioning units on the map.
To help with this even further, we have decided that for the fold-out Battlemaps, the black and white approach has been left behind in favour of colour coding the map sections. This allows players and the Mother Superior to quickly see which side of the map they are in or crossing over to, so the positive or negative effects are clear.
Without futher ado, here is the new design for the Battlemaps!
Cross Versus Pentagram Map
The Battle Map in the sisterhood accessory kit, however, is double-sided, one side for devils, demons and horrible horsemen, the other for the blistering brightness of the angelic host. Mechanically, the Battle Map still works the same, but we have been designing an alternate map based on sacred geometry and gelic symbols to create this new map. We took inspiration from the symbol of the Merkabah (meaning 'Chariot' in Hebrew), a marker often associated with spiritual travel. In the world of Sisterhood, we have imagined this pattern to be associated with the descent of angels to the earthly realm. Much like how a Pentagram can be a summoning tool to allow demons a way to manifest in the human realm, the Merkabah here is used to bring the thundering power of the holy host down to Earth.
