My family’s story is quite similar, as my parents were boat people who fled Vietnam after the war. I started my life in a refugee camp in Hong Kong before my parents, my older sister, and I made our way to France, where we settled and where I grew up. Growing up in a bicultural environment, with parents affected by the trauma of war and cultural differences, was not easy.
