Updates

After months of hard work and many evenings giggling as I turned wacky kobold prompts into stat blocks, I'm thrilled to announce that version 1.0 is ready! 

If you purchased the product here, you'll be getting an email shortly. If you purchased it on Itch.io, you can download the new version from the Itch.io page. The email will only have the single page version, as I'm having issues exporting the two-page spreads. I'll get that out by separate email as soon as it's ready. 

Thank you for your patience as I poured my heart into this - my largest solo release yet.

(I plan to release version 1.01 - which will have bookmarks, alt text, and clickable ToC links, as soon as I figure out how to do those things without a paid version of Acrobat. There won't be a release announcement for 1.01, as to not clog people's feeds.) 

Surveys

Hey everyone! Sometime today, you should receive an email with a link to your BackerKit survey. Please fill it out as soon as possible; the faster I get them in, the sooner I can get folks their rewards!

5% of backers were sent theirs just now as a smoke test. Everyone else's will go out in a few hours.

If don't receive your email by this time tomorrow, it might be caught in your spam filter. You can go directly to https://kobold-ancestry.backerkit.com/ and fill it out there. That's also the link if you need to change an answer.

Once I get the surveys back, I'll lock the responses. This is a necessary step before I can start sending out the PDFs, but it you need to edit a response after it's locked, reach out to me directly. If it's a change to a custom item or kobold that I've already started working on, I might not be able to accommodate the change, but I will always make time to change folks' names in the credits if the one they provided no longer represents them.

What's Next?

BackerKit should charge your card within the next 48 hours. If the charge doesn't go through, you'll have until September 7th to fix the issue.

I just sent the pledge manager to BackerKit for approval. It should take a day or two for them to approve it.

Once the pledge manager is approved and your order is locked and paid, you'll get an email from BackerKit with the download link to the Kobold Ancestry (v. 0.991). This way, you'll be able to start playing as a kobold immediately!

You'll also get a survey from BackerKit asking how you'd like to be credited. If you're getting a custom item or kobold, the survey will collect your prompt for that too. I'll have another update in a few days with advice on what makes a good prompt.

I'll start working on custom content as I get surveys back.

Version 1.0

Once I've designed all the backer items and kobolds, I'll add them to the PDF and send the whole thing off to the editor.

Once the final version is ready, I'll upload it to BackerKit and you'll get an email that there's a new version of the PDF to download.

I don't have a timeline for this; it depends on how quickly I get surveys back, how long it takes to develop each custom item and kobold, and... well... life, but my goal is to get all of this to you as soon as reasonably possible. If it looks like it's going to take longer than expected, I'll start sending backer items and kobolds to their backers by email ahead of the 1.0 release.

Late Pledges

Custom items and kobolds are available at least through the end of August. I may keep those options available past August, but if I do, custom items and kobolds ordered after August won't be in the 1.0 PDF release.
