Have you ever wondered what those strange characters from ancient manuscripts do when no one is looking? My new enamel pin collection, "Medieval Marginal Party," pulls back the curtain on the secret life of history’s oddest musicians.
These aren’t just accessories — they are a medieval rave captured in metal and enamel, bringing the chaotic charm of marginalia straight from the dusty pages of history onto your favorite jacket.
Meet the Headliners
This collection is designed for lovers of "weird medieval guys," history buffs, and anyone who appreciates a touch of whimsical absurdity.
The Feline Organist: A master of the medieval organ, accompanied by a violinist cat for a purr-fectly tuned duet.
The String Duo: A noble lion joins the fray with his own fiddle, proving that even the King of the Jungle has a soft spot for a good melody.
The Rhythm Section: A very serious dog keeps the beat on his drum, ensuring the whole troop stays in time.
The Traveling Minstrels: A donkey plucks the strings of a lute, while a hare blasts a fanfare on his trumpet.
We introduce ten unique but thematically linked enamel pin designs. This preview reflects the work in progress, and small adjustments may be made as the pieces are finalized.
Please note the difference in finish: The bonus designs will be shipped as standard Soft Enamel pins. The new designs are unique and exclusive: they are Hard Enamel, hand-polished, and individually crafted by me with a final epoxy topcoat.
This is where this project differs from mass-produced pins.
Starting in December, I made a radical decision to completely overhaul my production process. I have moved away from factory outsourcing and chemical etching. Instead, I brought the entire cycle in-house to my workshop in Ukraine.
What does "In-House" mean for you? It means I am personally crafting every single piece. I am not a middleman; I am the maker.
Laser Engraving vs. Etching: Instead of standard chemical etching/stamping, I use high-precision laser engraving. This allows for sharper details and a cleaner base.
Manual Wet Sanding: This is the hardest part. I don't use acid to smooth the metal. I use a labor-intensive manual wet sanding technique. This ensures a perfectly smooth surface that machines simply can't replicate.
Hand-Finishing: I personally hand-paint the enamel for every character and apply the protective epoxy coating myself.
Every pin you receive has passed through my hands—cut, sanded, painted, and polished by me.
This transition to a fully manual, in-house process guarantees superior quality, but it comes with a challenge that I want to be open about.
My workshop is in Ukraine. As you know, we are currently facing difficult times with shelling and severe electricity shortages. My entire process—the laser engraver, the sanding machines, the curing tools—runs on electricity.
Simply put: When the power is cut, the workshop stops. I cannot run the laser or do the wet-sanding in the dark. This dependence on the grid is the reason why the Medieval Rabbits (for previous backers) are experiencing a slight delay. I am working through every window of available power to get them finished.
Rest assured: I have not forgotten about you. The work continues the moment the lights come back on.
Any questions? Write! We will be happy to answer them. Due to the war in our country, some ‘force majeure’ situations may occur.
