Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more. To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution. All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands. Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards. Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

Your money will be collected only after the project ends. If the project is cancelled for any reason, you won't be charged.

VAT isn’t included on these purchases. Luckily, since most the items are books, when declaring, we make sure to put the proper codes on them so they are recognized as literature materials. A lot of countries do have a low rates on those. Part of the reason we don’t cover VAT is because we honestly don’t know all the rules and totals within each person‘s country because we will ship to pretty much anywhere around the globe. We are willing to let people from any country request a shipment as well, as long as they are willing to take the risk that it may not arrive to them due to what their country will allow into its borders. Shipping will be calculated and applied by Backerkit when you fill out the final survey after the campaign is complete. This helps us ensure sufficient postage is collected without overcharging you with unspecific estimates upfront. With shipping rates fluctuating as rapidly as they have for the last 2 years, this is best for everyone! Estimated shipping is listed within the campaign under the heading "SHIPPING."

Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.

You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.

Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
