Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos: A Hardback Children's Picture Book

A mock up of Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos. The final cover may vary slightly.

Ellowyn's imagination often gets her into some well meaning but sticky situations. It doesn't help that her kitchen skills are as wobbly as a penguin on roller skates. One rainy afternoon she decided to come up with a whimsical creation using some unexpected ingredients. Set backs test Ellowyn’s resolve. Will she discover the missing ingredient that turns her sticky chaos into something magical? Join her on a silly and heartwarming journey where love, laughter, and stick-to-it-iveness transform every mistake into a delicious adventure.

This story was inspired by an endearing recipe book that the real Ellowyn wrote when she was 5 years old. We plan to include 4 of those original recipes in the back of the book for extra giggles.

Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos promotes:
  • A growth mindset
  • Creativity and imagination
  • Enjoying time with family
  • Laughter through mishaps
  • Stick-to-it-iveness

This book is a 9x9 inch hardcover picture book, designed for children ages 3-9. If our funding goal is reached, the plan is to have the books printed using a high quality offset printer.

Please Share to Help Us Reach Our Stretch Goals

Wouldn't it be so much fun to have a custom Maple plushie or Ellowyn doll to go with the book? We really think so!  If we are able to raise funds beyond our $6000 book goal, we can unlock a new "add-on" to add to your pledge.

$11,000 total funding reached - A 10" plush Maple would become available.
$17, 050 total funding reached -  A 10" plush Ellowyn doll would also become available.

These plushies would be offered to our backers at a special discounted price as a thank you for helping us reach our stretch goals.

Please share this campaign with your friends and family to see if we can reach these dream stretch goals!

Timeline

An illustration in progress.

Here is a rough timeline of how I'm hoping things will go. It's hard to say how long it will take to complete the illustrations since I am a first time book illustrator. I will certainly keep you updated often on the progress and I'll try my best not to keep you wondering what's going on.

  • July 30th- Backerkit campaign launch
  • Wrap up final edits of the story with the editor
  • Continue illustrating
  • Work with a book designer to lay out the pages.
  • August 20th - Backerkit campaign ends
  • Finish illustrations and book design
  • September/October - Send files to the printer
  • December/January - Receive books from the printer and distribute the rewards to our supporters
