Project Update: Aprons gift sets have arrived!
Hey all!
Even though the book isn’t finished, yet, I do have an exciting arrival. Our aprons and chef hats have arrived from the manufacturer! So if you ordered the gift set, these are for you! We also had some potholders made for a different gift set that wasn’t part of the Backerkit campaign.
I wasn’t able to attach the unboxing video here. But I posted it on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/Qc2VUnn9UpZM91e1/?mibextid=UalRPS
Hugs,
Rayleigh and Ellowyn

Project Update: Shipping too expensive?
If you go to complete your survey and you think that shipping is more than it should be, please reach out to me to figure it out. 503-828-2973
If you ordered books only, shipping should be around $6. That’s for Media mail and that’s the cheapest it gets.
If you ordered an apron gift set, it should be around $8, or so, last I checked. That’s if I use Pirate Shipping, which has discounted rates compared to USPS. But I think Backerkit might be using USPS rates. I’m reaching out to Backerkit to see if there is anything I can do about this.
“Local pick up” has a fee of $2 and that’s to cover “handling” since it will be a lot of work to arrange local pick up for 80-something people. I’ll also use those funds to help pay for the launch party that I hope you can make it to so we can celebrate together.
If anything is confusing, you can reach out to me or reach out to Backerkit.
Warmly,
Rayleigh

Project Update: Are you local?
Hey all!
I just sent out a survey to ask for your mailing address. If you want to do local pick up, please choose "local pick up" instead of USA when it asks for your country (not intuitive, I know). If you pledged to donate books and you aren't expecting to receive a book, you should still receive a survey. The survey also gives you an opportunity to add things on to your pledge if you'd like to.
Thanks for filling those out promptly!
Rayleigh and Ellowyn

Project Update: Local Pick Up
Hey friends!
I sent out surveys to a small percentage of my backers as a test so some of you have received that and the rest will receive that after I make sure there aren't any kinks to work out. I did already find one, though. It's not clear how to choose local pick up. So here is how you do it. On the first page where you choose your country, instead of choosing USA, choose "local pick up." Hopefull you will remember that when you go to complete your survey.
I plan to have a launch party when I have the books ready. So if you are local to Tualatin, OR and you want to join us for that, that would be a fun time to pick up your book and have some yummy treats as a "thank you" for your support. If you haven't purchased a book, yet, you can do it at the launch party!
hugs and high fives,
Rayleigh and Ellowyn.

Project Update: Chugging along
Hey all!
Thank you all so much for your pledges and for your payments to the Ellowyn's Kitchen Chaos campaign. We definitely feel the love and we are so excited to have met our goal!
If you missed your opportunity to pledge during the campaign, you can still order through the pre-order store.
Okay, here is the part where I have to admit that I was very wrong about the time it would take to complete the illustrations. This is my first book to write and to illustrate. I wanted to run the campaign in August because I thought I would be able to finish the illustrations by the end of August and then get books to everyone before Christmas. But it turns out, illustrations take much much much longer than I realized. There was also the fact that the campaign was happening during that time and I didn't realize how much of my time would be devoted to running the campaign every day.
Please know that I'm working so hard to create a beautiful book for you all. I'll try to update more often, at least on Facebook and Instagram. To be honest, after the 21 day campaign, I needed a little social media break. Haha! But I love keeping you all in the loop since you've all been so supportive.
Much love to you all,
Rayleigh (and Ellowyn)
