New Year, Same You
Did you know that every horse in the Northern Hemisphere has their birthday on January 1st? They're all officially one year older, and one year faster.
Welcome, to Night Va...
What goes up must come down, so I expect I'll be on the ground any minute now.
Welcome, to Night Vale.
Citizens, today we appreciate the little things, like warm desert skies, wild plastic bags, and of course- the digital release of the Welcome to Night Vale Roleplaying game.
Firstly, our physical books are still going through the rigorous process of learning how to swim- but they’ll be on the water soon. That means that we need to lock in addresses! We plan on closing address changes on June 13th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. We’ll drop another few updates as reminders in the days leading up to that closing date but if you’re reading this now please go check that your address is correct! If it isn't, email us at [email protected] with “Night Vale Address Change" in the subject line.
Now back to the digital release. Yes! You read that correctly (one gold star on your summer reading chart, good luck) the Welcome to Night Vale Roleplaying Game is coming up on its digital release!
This coming Monday, June 2nd, we’ll begin digital code distribution via Backerkit. This message will also include a link to the webpage to download your game. Your code will be one-time use and the webpage is a secret so make sure the shadowy figure standing behind you doesn’t redeem your code before you do.
We know that you might get (literally) sucked into prepping and playing the game but we recommend saving some room in your schedule.
Next Friday, June 6th, is our next Renegade Con! On top of all of our usual announcements and panels we’ve included a special Welcome to Night Vale Character Creation Panel with none other than Symphony Sanders- the voice of Tamika Flynn!
Renegade Con is packed to the gills with releases, videos, and other info about what Renegade has coming up in the next few months so if you want the full picture join us on our YouTube Channel starting at 10 AM PT on June 6th!
If you won’t be at Gen Con you might be interested in the Conference on BIPOC Game Studies at the Strong Museum in New York this September where the Welcome to Night Vale Roleplaying game is part of the Games Showcase! Carlos (y’know the Game Dev?) and some of the Night Vale game writing team will even be there corporeally!
That’s everything we’ve got for you today, citizens. If you have any questions, comments, or grim visions please leave them below for us.
As spring brings the sleeping plants from the ground, watch your ankles. Daffodils can bite.
Welcome, to Night Vale.
Yes, Citizens! Spring is here and the flowers are blooming, the birds are screaming, and the skies are a beautiful shade of blue.
We have a few small announcements for this update, and then we'll have something new- a citizen spotlight!
First, a short update on game production. It is happening. That's the update. Hm. Okay. It is short at least? Well if we get any other updates we'll certainly let you know. Many citizens have asked about the timing of our digital releases and I don't have that information yet but rest assured that once I know, you will too, citizens.
In honor of spring we've decided to shine the spotlight on one of our newest citizens, Margaret Briarwood! You all met Margaret for the first time during the campaign and her job is certainly very appropriate for the springtime!
Margaret Briarwood (She/Her) Margaret is a flower girl and a friendly face in Night Vale. She gets her flowers from Cactus Park, though no one knows where that is. She is often gone for days at a time before other residents see her smiling face again, but they’re always welcoming. The others don’t mind that at some point, in some broken time, Margaret was found by residents near a portal that led directly into a battle of the Blood Space War. She can’t remember all of the details that led to her rescue, but wherever she is and whatever she’s doing, it always seems second nature to her, especially when it comes to ignoring gravity. They say war changes people. In Margaret’s case, this manifests in knowledge she has picked up from a place she can’t remember but always seems to understand. It also manifests through gravity defying prancing with the deer for days in the desert.
LEVEL: 1 INFLUENCE: Kind ORIGIN: Brought Back ROLE: Soldier FOCUS: Blood Space War Veteran
We're so excited that we could introduce you all to her, and keep an eye on our future updates. Not our past ones, you can probably ignore those.
Thank you citizens, and we'll talk to you again very soon.
Is there any notice on whether digital fulfillment timing will be different from physical? Backerkit says it was shipped, but I’m guessing that was just based on the original timeline, because I’ve receive nothing.
They say patience is bitter but the fruit is sweet, and while waiting might taste like a lemon I guarantee the rewards will be very very worth it.
Welcome, to Night Vale
Citizens, while I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I am obligated to deliver it with minimal wailing and sobbing. It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that while we expected to have the Welcome to Night Vale roleplaying game to you in the next month or two, plans have been forced to change.
Now we cannot disclose too much information, but I will say that the radioactive coyotes are not allowed to operate any printing presses. Any certification they show you is forged so when they show up to apply for jobs please be aware of that.
That being said, we expect to get the game to you at the end of summer. There will still be plenty of time to warm up your Hosting muscles before the fall weather sets in and you can set the perfect vibes at your game table.
We’ve also received a number of concerned emails and dream messages about tariffs. These mysterious creatures have been hopping from place to place attempting to add charges to purchases. We want to assure you that here in Night Vale, and at Renegade, we have the beasts under control. While these tariffs have certainly affected our business, we will NOT be passing any costs onto you.
Lastly, we’d like to extend an invitation for you to join the Renegade Discord server. Nestled amongst the channels is a special one just for Night Vale discussion where you can meet other citizens, dream up adventures for your players, and even occasionally catch Carlos (y’know, the game dev?) online and answering questions.
