I currently only ship to the United States, Canada, Mexico and Australia. If you feel your country should be on this list, please let me know! Europe has made it extremely difficult to mail to them as of December 13, 2024 and thus I will no longer be able to mail anything over there.
Yes! I do have two Pembrooke Corgi's: a tricolor named S'mores, and a red one named Chip. They are similar to Buster and Murphy, but are not these characters.
It is 100% polyester.
Crowdfunding is a way for us to raise money directly from people like you who believe in what we're doing. Instead of relying on traditional funding, we’re turning to our community to help bring my art to life. It’s also a great way for us to connect with you, the people who support us, and build a strong community around this project. Plus, it allows us to maintain full creative control and stay true to our vision. When you back our project, you’re not just helping fund it; you’re becoming part of the journey and the community that makes it all possible. In addition, creating premium products often comes with significant upfront costs. Manufacturers typically require us to order in bulk to achieve the best pricing and meet minimum order quantities (MoQs). For small production runs, these MoQs can be expensive, which increases the overall cost per item. Crowdfunding helps us overcome this challenge by allowing us to gather the funds we need before we place the order, making it possible for us to produce high-quality products without the financial burden of meeting these high minimums. This model also means that we can offer products that might not be feasible with traditional retail models, and it ensures that every product is made with care, quality, and attention to detail. By supporting us through crowdfunding, you're helping to make these items a reality and contributing to a more sustainable production process.
You can handwash the surfaces of the plush, but the plush are not machine washable.
Yes, after the campaign ends, you will receive a survey. You will be able to select exact options for your order, and, if applicable, provide your shipping address, pay for shipping, and pay for sales tax (depending on your location).
The best way to ask a question is by going to the Community tab of the project and post your questions on the discussion page. https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/robot-dragon-studios/PilesofPlush/community
The cost to ship stuffed plush from the manufacturer to me and then from me to backers was close to $8k per design. I felt this was unaffordable. I decided it was better to order it as is then have people spend the $5-$10 to stuff it themselves with as little or as much stuffing as they felt necessary.
I do allow people to sponsor designs, but only through me directly and not on a crowdfunding platform. Last time I attempted this with pins, people backed out or did not pay at all after I worked on their designs. This created problems and I will no longer be offering this via crowdfunding.
There will be no refunds.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
