Project Update: It’s Alive! Roll Funky Dice is Ready for You

RollFunkyDice.com is live! Head over and log in to explore.
Backers: How to Log In
At the login page, enter the email you used to back RFD. You’ll receive a magic link—check spam just in case. Clicking the link will log you in and take you directly to your character catalog, where you’ll find:
✅ The backer-exclusive download of Escape from DosLand by Aaron Kreader (Studio 9 Games).
✅ Generate and prep your characters ahead of sessions.
✅ The ability to name and share your public room with your party. Guests can roll for free, set their name, and create custom actions. If they sign up and join your room, their characters will appear for them in your public room automatically.

Project Update: New Feature added - Custom public room colors!
Greetings all!
I hope your holiday season is growing more festive by the day—and if you’re gaming, more adventurous too! 🎄🎲
I’m thrilled to announce a new feature: Room Settings. You’ll find the button located on the right, next to the Initiative Tracker. With this, you can customize your public room colors to suit your adventure.

I’m thrilled to announce a new feature: Room Settings. You’ll find the button located on the right, next to the Initiative Tracker. With this, you can customize your public room colors to suit your adventure.
To ensure readability, a built-in contrast checker runs in the background, maintaining a minimum 3:1 ratio so text doesn’t disappear into a sea of similar colors.
Important note: If you update the room colors while players are in your room, they’ll need to reload the page to see the changes.

Project Update: Beta coming to a close
Greetings!
This Beta period I've been getting some really good feedback and updating accordingly, fixing bugs and rescuing lost gong farmers. I wanted to send out a quick note letting everyone know that by the end of the year I'll have the domain switched over and it will be the new rollfunkydice.com. The Beta is winding down so if there's any other feedback or glitches I can fix let me know!

Project Update: Beta Launch Activated!
Greetings Purple Planet Backers,
The beta version of rollfunkydice is live! https://rfd.fly.dev/ This an open beta for finding out if there is anything left to fix. New accounts will be BETA accounts and subject to change if needed in this phase. While beta testing is occurring I will be putting in place the Settings page where people can manage their subscription. Reminder, if you selected a subscription pledge, the subscription time will not start until the official launch happens. Let me know if there are any questions on that. If everything goes smoothly, the next step is to officially launch the new Rollfunkydice!

Release Notes:
- Registering a new account sends a confirmation to your email address. Click on that link to confirm that you intended to register and you will be taken to your private Character Catalog.
- The Character Catalog is where you can randomly generate characters. You can edit the characters and add customized dice rolls to each of them individually. The random generation includes possible Kith and Robot classes for when the Purple Planet comes into orbit.
- You also have a public room to invite anyone to your adventure. Initially the room name is the name you provided and you can change this in your Character Catalog. Share this link with your adventurers!
- The public room is where the initiative tracker lives. Characters have a custom initiative dice roll that ends up in the tracker. But you could also create a custom roll with the word 'initiative' or 'init' to have that roll result end up in the initiative tracker.
- Custom dice rolls you create can be informed by certain values of your character. For example, when creating a custom roll for your Cleric, you can add the Personality ability modifier so that it takes it into account whenever you cast with that custom roll (provided there is an ability modifier value to add).

Project Update: Roll Funky Dice Beta Launch Update – A Few More Days!
Greetings!
Today is September 21, our anticipated beta launch date, and I wanted to keep you updated. During final testing, I discovered an issue where a single dice roll was being recorded multiple times in the database, leading to duplicate, sometimes triplicate entries. If left unchecked, the size of the database would have rivaled the Purple Planet itself!
Fixing this took more time than expected and delayed some of the other quality checks I had planned. As a result, I need a few more days to ensure everything runs smoothly before the beta launch. I apologize for the delay and truly appreciate your patience. I can’t wait to share this with you very soon!
