I’m Rose Catherine Khan, professional dragon artist (yes, that’s a thing). By some twist of fate, I stumbled into the puzzle world eight years ago and have since illustrated fantasy worlds for giants like Ravensburger, Buffalo Games, and dozens of others. But there’s something I never told anyone. Those puzzle scenes weren’t generic bits of fantasy. Every puzzle was a window into a hidden world: the world of Centernia. Because, surprise, I’m a novelist too.
Centernia is my fantasy series, spanning three novels (so far) filled with portals, intrigue, and a touch of romance. And now, we’re bringing it to life in a new way. This campaign pairs the next audiobook, Mark of the Castle, with a brand-new illustrated puzzle, a direct scene from the story. Puzzle happily and get lost in the accompanying audiobook, where every piece and every chapter connect to the same fantastical world.
Our pre-launch vote has selected THE AQUARIUM GOWN as our first puzzle. This is a pivotal scene from Chapter 42 of Mark of the Castle. THE DANCE AT WATERSGLADE has also unlocked, and is available as a puzzle choice, (see the concept art further below).

🎧 About the Audiobook
Jamie-Lyn Markos is returning to narrate the second novel. Jamie-Lyn is a professional actor with credits in audiobooks, games, commercials and has an impressive history as a live performer for The Walt Disney Company. She knows how to flex her voice and make you forget that she’s one person! She’s already blocked out the time to dive into this project, and deliver the new book by December. Not a long wait.
Centernia is fantasy with both magic and messiness. Its halls feel lived-in and imperfect. Families fracture, friendships strain, and relationships are as complicated as real life. It is portal fantasy where wonder comes with consequences, and stepping through the Gate does not mean leaving behind the bills or the secrets of your past.
With Backerkit, you aren't charged until the campaign is over and only if the funding goal is met! You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your pledge at any time before the campaign ends! If stretch goals are unlocked, you’ll be able to access them. If you pick the 1000-piece puzzle option, you’ll be asked which design you would like at the end of the campaign so you can pick from any unlocked choices.
After the campaign ends, surveys will be sent out to collect addresses and calculate shipping costs! Shipping costs will be charged separately, just before we start fulfilling the orders.

Shipping costs will be calculated after the campaign during pledge management so they’re as accurate as possible.On average, you can expect U.S. shipping to range from $5–$12 (for two 1000-piece puzzles or a 1000-piece and a micro puzzle set), depending on your location and the size of your pledge.
The average international shipping cost for a puzzle or micro puzzle set is estimated to be $20-$50, plus any additional tariffs or VAT. If you’d like a precise estimate, email [email protected] with the items you’d like, your address, with the subject line SHIPPING ESTIMATE, and we will calculate that ahead of time.
All puzzles and books are packed carefully by us to make sure they reach you in excellent condition. We use thickly padded bubble mailers and sturdy cardboard boxes so your rewards arrive safe and sound.
For printing, we have established relationships with trusted puzzle printers. Occasionally there can be supply chain disruptions outside our control, but we always stay in close communication and work hard to minimize delays.
We want you to know exactly what to expect and when. Here’s our plan:
Audiobooks
Book 1: Return to the Castle is already complete! Once the campaign wraps up and we get through our post-campaign crash, you can expect it delivered straight to your inbox.
Book 2: Mark of the Castle estimated completion is early December 2025.
Puzzle
The brand-new 1000-piece puzzle is currently in the sketch phase. Because of the holiday crunch, there is a chance of slight delays, but the reasonable expectation is shipping by mid-January 2026.
If you prefer not to wait for the new puzzle, you can instead select Dragon’s Garden, Magic Study, or Found it, all in 1000-piece formats, printed by Tate & Co puzzles, and shipping in late November.
If you happen to snag one of the limited-edition MicroPuzzle sets, those will also be shipping in late November/early December.
If you have a combined order, your shipment will be grouped together when all items are available.
We’ll keep you updated every step of the way, so you’ll always know where things stand.
