Hello everyone. I don’t know how many fellow backers check the community tab. But if any do, I am new to this show and have only heard about it through the Lackadaisy community. I am still learning about the show, but after seeing this page and the character bio’s and story, I can say that I think this show has a chance to be something great. But so far it seems the pilot will be short of being the best it can be if not funded in time. I have no problem with seeing an animatic, but I want to help the pilot be the best it can be to everyone. We can all help by spreading the word around in the last eleven days of the crowdfund to everyone we know and visit the Lumi and the Great Big Galaxy store. There is a store of this show where you can buy or donate to help the fund the show too. If anyone isn’t aware of this store, it is called “latgbg.com”. I hope this helps the pilot reach its goal of being funded. I have faith that this show can be something great for everyone. I wish the creator the best of luck and encourage everyone to help spread the word by mouth, twitter (X), YouTube, any way to help the pilot be the best it can be. We can do this everyone! :)
Project Update: First Three Script Pages Unlocked! 300 Backers reached!
Up next is 500 Backers, and if we are able to reach it, you'll be gifted a free drawing of both characters and their respective plushes!
Once again, thanks for your support, and let's see how far we can get!
Speaking of promotion, I was recently invited to be a part of Lackadaisy's Shop Talk, which you can watch below! I'm eternally grateful to the team for inviting me, and had a blast talking Lumi and the struggles and success of indie animation.
We also managed to hit $21k, an incredible feat! Once again, I'm so incredibly grateful for your support. That just leaves of with $113,728 left to reach our goal as per our achievements- and with nearly 300 backers to boot! It was put in achievements that if we reached 300 backers, we'd release the first three pages of our pilot script, and with 292 so far, it looks as if we may as well reach it! I plan on submitting new achievement goals either tonight or tomorrow, so please keep an eye out for them
I also wanted to touch on the subject, since few have expressed their concern regarding the stillness of Lumi's crowdfund. I’ve had a few questions regarding if we’re unsuccessful in funding Lumi on BackerKit, and to clarify, you’ll still get to see the pilot — just not in it’s fully animated form. I plan on uploading the animatic to YouTube with what we have been able to get done animation wise.
I know this decision may come across as disappointing for those who wanted to see it fully animated, and I’m sorry for that. But as it stands, I don’t think I can put any more of my energy into a third crowdfund, and overseeing everything for the past few years has been taxing.
There’s still 17 days left, so we’ll just have to see how far we can get! The BackerKit, whether it succeeds or not, I won’t consider a failure. I just hope you’ll still be able to appreciate Lumi, even if what it ends up being wasn’t what people were expecting.
Regardless, thank you so much for your support over the years. I am truly honored to be a part of a welcoming community like the indie space, and I hope you’ll continue to support the artists who helped make it all possible, and Lumi as well. Thank you!
Project Update: 14% funded, 28 days left, and NEW achievements!
We've got about 28 days left to reach our goal, and in the span of TWO WEEKS we've managed to reach not only 14% funding, but $18,805 in said funding!
Which is... wow! Absolutely incredible! I absolutely cannot thank you all enough for your support thus far.
Of course, while we've managed to reach a large amount in such a short amount of time, that doesn't mean we're popping any champagne bottles yet! We've yet to reach our goal of $135,000, which, if successful, means we'll be able to finish our pilot's rough animation, cleanup, and composite.
We're also introducing something new to our campaign: community achievements! We want to spotlight our accomplishments with the community we've built, celebrating current achievements while also attempting to bring spotlight and crush new ones.
After all, Lumi's funding is helped in part by YOU, and it's something we couldn't thank you enough for.
Keep spreading the word, keep sharing, and I'll be sure to do the same!
Once again, thanks so much for your support, and let's try to cap off these 28 days with a FULLY FUNDED CAMPAIGN!
